Make a long story short lost an iphone, and this girl just bought it months later off some random guy. When she turned it on it said to call my friend (find my phone). My question is if I took it to verizon can they turn it back on? I filed a insurance claim and got a new iphone since, does that mean you can never activate the stolen one again? Kinda just wanted to buy the old phone back and sell it, but I dk if it’s just a paper weight. IPhone 5s verizon carrier.
They should be able to unlock it with your friends Apple account
The IMEI is probably flagged as stolen since you filed a claim. I’m curious what they do when a phone turns up after a claim has been paid out.
Actually if you filed a stolen claim with ATT you’re fucked
Carrier is verizon. I put one of those screen messages from find your phone app to cAll my sister if it was found. 4 months later a girl calls my sister said she just bought my stolen phone for $150
and ya I filed a insurance claim and got a new phone. Is the stolen phone no assurance?
I bought an iPhone off someone once to flip it. I had them meet me at a Verizon store, come in with me and confirm the IMEI/ESN was clean. The chick typed the number wrong and said it couldn’t be activated because it was stolen. Boy was that awkward for a few minutes! I knew she did something wrong, no way this person would come into the store with me knowing it was stolen. I asked her to re-run it and it was actually clean, good profit was made. 8)
I love swappa, bought and sold there several times before. They strive to ensure integrity in their marketplace.
