Had my phone swiped 2/12 @ Pearl Street Brewery. Have been keeping my eye on Craigslist.
An ad went up today at 4:25 pm. Iphone4 for sale. “3 weeks old, had to switch carriers, need a quick sale - $200”.
This raises a red flag for me. Too cheap, no real pics, story sounds like BS.
I texted the guy about it. Used a fake name and said I had cash. The posting was taken off Craigslist by 4:50 pm. Super fucking fishy.
Here’s what I’ve got.

Not sure if you saw this ad…http://buffalo.craigslist.org/mob/2213109055.html .
Doesn’t say which carrier though. Are you able to remote wipe all your data and lock the phone through itunes at all?
Edit: If you had the mobileme app on your phone, you can use another persons iphone, ipad etc to login and locate the phone.
Geoff you know a Buffalo police officer. I don’t want to post his username but you know who he is. Let me know if you need his number! He can probably help.
Call the carrier, lock the esn… ? cant you do that/

He probably did, but wants to get the phone back.
How much communication went back and forth between you two? Def sounds fishy.

Unfortunately, no. Just a text. And now the posting is down so I can’t try that.
It’s just really shady that the posting was up for only a half hour.
I can kinda hear his last name in his voicemail greeting, but can’t really make it out…
It was up for only a half hour because it probably got sold in that half hour. I found a good deal on a sled on craigslist, a couple hours into the listing being posted it was sold. So I wouldn’t doubt a cheap priced iphone selling in a half hour.
this is the third occurrence i have heard of since returning home… did someone pocket you? best of luck with all of this, i’d be pissed!

So you came home and phone thefts spiked? I’d check to see if this guy has your phone. j/k
write down all possible last names based on his voicemail…record listening to his voicemail once so you’re not calling over and over…
have you seen the commercials lately advertising websites with unlimited free backround checks that are available online now?
you can also go to your carrier and have them reverse lookup the kids number, maybe even have them GPS your phone’s location
