Was browsing the Cars at Carlisle website trying to find the Fuel Injected 1958 Bonneville Convertible I saw when I was down there, and this caught my eye.
It’s a 1999 Skyline Sedan with an RB26DET motor in it. Very well done. Not feeling the wheels, but the rest of the car looks good. Appraised at $284k, but not sure what it sold for.
the reason it appraised so high is because there are a fixed number of these that are street legal in the states.
Motorex was importing them for a few years before the US gov caught on that they had only crash tested R33 GTS-ts. And now the only R34s legal in the US are the few that motorex had already imported.
Also, the skyline isn’t like a taurus… more like a mustang…
The GTR is like the cobra…
Same reason a hemi-cuda from way back is worth 11ty billion dollars. Yeah, you could build something comparable for less, but it’s RARE.
that is a pretty impressive build though… it’s got some serious mods you normally wouldnt see on that kind of car here… also, the exterior is left pretty clean which is also quite rare.
i can see it going for $50k+ and i can also see some fan-boy with a rich daddy take this for closer to the $100k mark
That looks nice, but why on earth would you drive around with those booklets under your hood? I mean wouldn’t the glove box or back seat be a better place for them?
