You underestimate merch sales and tv money…
i guess so.
The show will tank with just pro mods
There is already another spin off show in the works and the New Orleans version of street outlaws.
I dont think it will tank, theres always going to be other cars that arent pro mods.
But i guess when you lose like 30k to Ky kellys pro mod camaro, and you need a new car, pro mod seemed like the only option to be able to compete with another pro mod car.
I like Kye Kellys promod camaro more than big cheifs new ride, because it doesnt have that stretched look. But i think the original crow looked way better
You want to put money on the show tanking as all the popular cars move towards actual race cars?
There are already a few other shows in works House of Grudge and 256 call out.
The two-hour season ender was pretty wild, if you haven’t watched / heard about it catch up. Surprised to see the Helleanor Mustang there. Not surprised to see the overall victor. That guy is kryptonite.
It’ll happen, if they all go tube-frame glass bodies. Part of the appeal are the relatable cars and “regular joes” and that relation drops fast when race teams show up in Prevosts with alcohol funny cars and altereds.
That said, this series consistently entertains, and my lady was getting interested in it, although I had to explain the whole “street-raced-car-vs-street-car” concept. She got it quicker than some forum guys did.
Goliath 2.0 looks pretty sexy
I am hearing Boosted GT and Kamikaze will be running against the Buffalo crew at Lancaster this summer
Street race on a track? Kamikaze’s car is fast on the street. I’ve seen him in Houston a few times.
So whats happening is a bunch of the guys with race cars that never see the street locally are trying to call out those street racers to run them at lancaster.
Lancaster is paying them to come make a few exhibition passes
Semi related
"Kye kelley car is not a pro mod smh
Pro-Mod is a class of racing not a car designation first of all.
Tons of people run pro-mod bodies in top sportsman and other classes.
The only difference in a “pro-mod” body and every other fiber glass body tube chassis car is altered body lines. The Rules allow for any body type one can think of or even make. So a “pro-mod” body is one that has been narrowed, roof line chopped, rocker panels chopped, quarter panels raised, and the whole body is raked to give it a wedge look for aerodynamics.
Kyes car has factory dimensions and body lines.
Back in the day before you could just order everything online. People racing pro-mod had to make their own bodies and they made outrageous looking stuff.
Well since not everyone can make their own bodies companies started coming out with Pro-Mod altered bodies for those who liked the look or wanted to race pro mod.
But I still see it as a class and not a way to classify a car.
Every brand new sports car on the lot can fit into X275 rules…but doesn’t make it a X275 car by no means. Just like 90% of tube chassis cars can race in pro mod class if they want, but prob less than 1% can qualify for a race."
I only called kye kellys a pro mod car because i could have sworn on the show it was called one.
But i truely dont k ow much about them.
Really, is it supposed to be like street outlaws or super fake? Seems like a strange name.
The Midwest Street Cars podcast with Chief and Shawn is pretty entertaining. Basically where they talk about everything that’s not portrayed on the show and what actually happened versus what Discovery decides to depict. That and the people that troll their Facebook pages lol.
It’s more about actual street cars
