The car has the plug in the front bumper, but I dont have a cord to plug it in. It’s a male plug in the bumper, can I cut an extension cord, splice a new male end on and use that or is there a resistor in the factory cord? Is it recommended to put it on a timer to have it turn on at say 2am or can i just have it plugged in all night?
If you have a male plug in the bumper, why would you cut an extension chord?
Subaru uses a 400W dumb heater which does not have any controls or safeties. I would put it on a timer for about 2-3 hours before you plan on starting the car.
I mispoke, female on the car.
Thanks for the timer inof.
That’s weird. Go to a hardware store and buy a male end. Cut end off existing cord, install male end. Putting it on a timer really helps your electric bill. I put my Cummins on a timer all winter, I have it turn on at about 4am. I leave at 6am and it always fires right up.
