as far as forced induction goes, centrifugal superchargers like vortechs/prochargers are generally a bit more efficient than roots type blowers so youll make more power, but you jump an order of efficiency going to turbos. They are more efficient than superchargers but its a different animal anyway… None of this is cheap however. Id just go for a decent NA build considering your budget. Roots type blowers are the only means of forced induction where the throttle response and power output is almost instantaneous, turbos need to spool up and centrifugal superchargers need to build boost, even though they dont “lag” like turbos. I hope this helps.
Plus if you want to boost it later, id reccomend forged pistons, plus keeping the ring gaps pretty loose…
I would dial it in first,I wouldn’t seek a blower until you get this to run at least a 8.0 in the 1/8th just the way it is. I ran a similar setup and ran a 8.2 in a heavy ass G-Body,I had stock 882 heads and 9:1 compression.
The “cool” factor is FI no doubt but if u wanna crush people NA is the way. Look what I did w a budget build years ago. Junk yard build went mid 11s all day when turbo and supercharged cars were high 11s and stuck in the 12s. U weigh nothing and decent power and a good tire will be stout
