This guy at work has a 2008 wr250x with full yosi pipe, lowering kit(+stock), kn filter, power commander, sliders, pants, jacket, gloves, helmet and other crap I’m forgetting.
Around 2k miles and have him talked down to $3000 already lol…
I hate to take apart an almost new motor so I’ll probably slap a turbo on it for a bit.
Little over 11,000 rpm redline, top speed just over 90mph.
If I could get to 50whp I should be able to add a tooth to the front and maybe take off a couple on the back to get closer to 4000rpm @70mph.

It’s supposed to have pretty tight gearing 1st-4th with 5th and 6th being overdrive gears.
Once I ride it and get the feel for it I’ll make changes, but chain and sprockets are cheap. I don’t want to jump on it hard to bring it up 1st-3rd though and it should have smooth power with the turbo.
With the mfab turbo kit its about 110 mph stock gearing @ 45whp.
The more research I do makes me want the mfab kit, it will put out 55whp without doing any fuel mods. It comes with tuning software, base tune and 3 hours to install. $1800!
One guy has 11,000 miles with the kit on stock motor. I won’t be able to build one that cheap…

I’m still keeping my options open if I come across a nice 450 SM.
This thread has almost 400 views, anyone else have a SM or bike that rides the twisties? I don’t do the 170mph thru way runs, but I’m down for country/back roads if anyone wants to ride this year.

Got a DL1000 Vstrom, pelican cases, tall windshield, big ass aluminum rack etc… Trailer rocks. Got a CRF150/BBR175 kit, built suspension etc. Just get a DRZ & ride the shit out of it… Seriously. Don’t fuck around, walking sucks.
Rough? It was rough riding from exit 48a to letchworth state park and back when it was 90 out. Other than that, it’s like a room full of kids with downs, fun
