First off thanks for all the props guys/gals. I wish the motor didn’t let go so quick. Friday was a decent day, hot but we had about a 3-5mph side/tail wind. First pass off the trailer we went 246.2, I felt a miss and stayed in it and later found out we had a coil wire come loose. After the run the motor was running a little rough but plugging the coil wire back in fixed that. For the second run we turned up the boost about 2 lbs and ramped it a bit faster, the car was really moving before it shut off at about the 3/4 mile mark. I still coasted through at 228 mph! You guys know I never over estimate my car, but I know it was on a 250mph pass. Saturday was the day, cool weather and about a 20-25mph straight tail wind. Everyone was running between 5-7mph faster than Friday with no changes to thier cars/bikes. Amit’s car is testament to the conditions on Sat. As far as his car, it was very impressive but they did remove all the stereo and most of the interior to save weight. I was helping Tommy out on Sat, trying to get him to run a number. Unfortunatley he was having some issues with his car that he didn’t get figured out until late in the day. I would have liked to see what both of our cars running right would have done on Sat. Tommy is a great guy and I wish him all the luck in the future…
As far as my car, I will be having a “conversation” with our motor builder and get him straightened out. I am done with drag racing and not sure what I will be doing with the car yet. Before I left for the mile, I told my wife that I left her a “letter” in case something should happen, she was freaked… She really been wanting me to sell the car. After talking with her today, I told her that I wanted to hit 250 before I sell it, she said go for it, so I am up in the air about the car. I even thought about building my white hardtop but after going out to the garage and looking at it again, I don’t think I will be doing that. I am going to get the motor done and the car finished up and then make my decision.
I just want to thank all my guys at Boost Logic, PM and Tuning Concepts for all that they have done this past year with this car. This car has set more records in one year than any other car I know of. Alot of people think it’s easy, just make big power, but no one has come close to us. Remember how many guys were going to run a 7 sec pass in a 6speed, with all their “new builds”, motor combos, EFI systems ect, still not close…
I also want to thank all of you that supported me through this last year with this adventure, it’s been fun. Justin and I were talking today and we decided we may just run some slow cars for a change.
