The early '90s Swift has a good following. I guess they can spin up to 9,000 rpm (maybe with springs, but stock bottom end).
It is what eMKay is using for his locost build.
Looks promising enough. Out accelerates a mini cooper according to the review.

Seems comparable if the engine numbers are similar.
Looks like a fun car, seems like they are starting to really get their act together.
