not really… ebay isnt sick… he wanted to know what people thought it would make for power, he was hoping for 300??? i told him, honestly i think 210 tops. because SAFC + ebay, plus stock turbo 2 injectors - proper tuning = low output and/or low reliability.
i know the kid and he told me it wasn’t tuned and he talked to morgan to get it better numbers. he was just hoping for 300hp he never claimed to me atleast that it was 300hp. but i hear you…ebay motors parts plus apexi parts are not gonna make for big gains.
i feel the same way i don’t use ebay anything on my 240. but i don’t have much to really claim on it either. just greddy hot pipe,fmic, hks bov,toda racing lightened flywheel,exedy stage 2 3puck clutch,stock turbo,3 down pipe with 3 exhaust all the way back. i just got an apexi neo and boost controller and i know it won’t make for big gains but morgan said it will add about 25-30hp to the wheels.

he told me he raced, and kept up with that S14 with like 350hp and that he thinks hes “atleast” 300hp. i laughed and walked away… 200hp, light with good gearing will give a good run. the car seemed to run ok for what it had, considering its an old rotary, the quality of the parts scares me though
nice #s. my cars screwd right now… clutch wont disengage all the way, mighta messed up the t/o bearing… just adjusted the pedal for more travel so im gonna bleed the master again… might get lucky… If so ill meet up for a cold run off the line… hopefully your tires just spin and you dont move haha later
yea when i talk to him i try to talk him into name brand parts but he’s all about those ebay items. i don’t know why. and the s-14 it’s really not all that fast…my cars can run with him pretty good but his wheel tq is down from the hp plus my car is alot lighter then his so it helps.
we ( S-14 and i ) ran at LVD this summer and i had a better 0-60 thn he did plus i had a lower 1/4 then him. he couldn’t hook up worth shit. i ran a 13.7 @ 104mph and he ran 13.9 @ 111mph.
yeah i know. i said to him, your car is light and may have better gearing than the 240, but he was pretty convinced it would make 300hp… he said he buys cheap parts because hes in a “testing stage” well why not do a RESEARCH stage first and find out what works, and buy good parts rather than buy junk first… some people should do other things than build cars.
theirs no problem with ebay intercooler, intercooler piping, couplers and clamps…but I learned from a Previous turbo V6 ebay build, dont mess around with ebay BOV’s, Wastegate’s or TURBO’S and you will make out ok.
your 60ft won the race. simple as that.
if the couplers are actually 3 or 4 ply silicone and not cheapish rubber they can work. the piping kits are ok since you get some bends to work with. but the intercooler cores are hit or miss. if youre doing a low boost setup like you had, it works alot better than if you were running alot of boost like i have to. the internal design of those intercoolers isnt nearly as good as a garrett/precision… but they will work as you said… knock or TiAL parts and knock off Garrett turbos… no way!
1st and gear gears are completely useless to me.

Most Ebay intercoolers make great junkyard turbo projects, but are not useful for any serious application.

yea i figured that. his car has ALOT of lag and when it hits it’s nuts… no traction til 3rd gear. he needs alot more practice too. not that i’m that great myself.
