there was a show on speed channel or one of the car shows on spike that had a thing about the yanko camaro & how they had grudge matchs every year at the track against the studebaker commander
both nice quick cars…but personally i like the underdog look of the stude
This could have been a good thread if all the fawkin ricers would have stayed out of it. Its amazing how clueless some of you are.
There seriously shouldn’t be any of this stupid posting going on…go educate yourselves. There is a ton of information out there about it, just go do some research and you’ll c that a low 12sec car out of the showroom floor was something to take a second look at.
Thats pretty amazing that they came up with that car in latrobe. There are so few of those cars left, there’s no point in trying to find one. Now, people are making clones that may not have the value, but certainly the fun in having a 427 4speed! Someday i’ll have something…heck, i get to look at one everyday:
My father has been building a '69 ZL1 camaro clone for a bit now. we have an original very clean 4speed car and the zl1 motor. I saw a block not too long ago do over 10 grand on ebay…for just the block! So someday, maybe i’ll inherit the camaro (if its done, i’ll prolly end up finishing it!)
Im assuming this is a smart ass comment, if so… I live in Belle Vernon and I do NOT know where 100% of all the businesses in the area? There are many “pole buildings” in the area with no advertisment or showrooms to name their business. So please tell me how you know where EVERY single business is in your area? You oviously dont if you are asking WHERE the business is… You should post your cell phone number so if any of us come to latrobe to find a business you can take us to the front door :tool:
Well the car I think came from Mexico actually, the mexicans got a hold of it and chromed the rear end, etc… they are :hitit: to destroy a car worth that kind of money, it was also painted metallic blue when they got it, but fortunatly the numbers matched, etc… dont ask me how, but these guys are totally legit and professional for Spike TV to ask them to do a car for one of their shows. The car has been through a lot but let me tell you its just perfect now… in fact they were sanding it today getting ready to buff out the whole car before it goes back to Latrobe. Ill take some more pics once its ready to go.
I almost shit my pants when I started reading the sentence below the picture you posted of your computer screen until I read Clone! Mad props to you and your father for building an awsome car, even though its not original and worth sickning amounts of money like the originals, it will be an awsome car that you can have fun with and im sure it will have a family value as much as the originals!
we arent clueless we just have an opinion that doesnt match yours, which since the day i was born have had the right to do plus this thread was posted in OFF-TOPIC.
none of us from what i have read disrespected or said a negative word about the car. im impressed as fuck by old muscle cars. theres something about them that ill never have in any newer car i own so before you run your mouth about how we are stupid ricers how about you stop acting like an ignorant prick and assuming that we dont know about older generation cars.
here’s my cell 724-875-9341 call me and i’ll show you where the Rite-Aid is here in Latrobe so you can buy some Midol for your PMS.
Latrobe> belle vernon and there is not that many “pole buildings” around here and I do know my way around here. pole building don’t usually catch my eye. I was only curious which one it was so if i was near it i could drive by and try to catch a peak.
Supra… Do you actually deliver these cars??? Because if you do then you would know that Super Car Workshop is not in Latrobe. According to this article, it is in Cannonsburg, Pa. You can actually drive around the outskirts of Latrobe in about 15 minutes… If there was a “famous” car shop here… everyone would know. http://www.hrnmagazine.com/cover.htm
They are in Latrobe somewhere, they are the guys who held the Camaro show there a few years. I believe his name is Bryan, its been a while since i payed any attention to the Camaro scene. Mustang rules all Camaros. Cannonsburg is where the Yenkos were built, maybe the article was a misprint.
Newchic- No I do not personaly deliver the cars… they have their own trailer which they drop off and pick up the vehicles. My dad is very good personal friends with the owners, I asked him where the shop was located and he said Latrobe… maybe it is 15 min outside of Latrobe, im not sure. I was never personaly at their shop, I just know Joe and Brian from being down our shop.
eurodad- Its ok for you to make smart comments, but when I make a smart comment I have PMS??? I really dont care where the EXACT location of the shop is, I mentoned the general area where it is located im sorry if that is not good enough for you. I did not start this thread to even talk about the location of the shop, it was started to talk about the Yenko Camaros. The only thing you posted in this thread was about the location of the shop… if your that interested then SEARCH the net for it. Stop filling up this thread with garbage… keep it ontopic
Sonic(lou) - You have the right guys, they did hold a car show a while back. Their names are Joe and Brian(not sure how its spelled), there really nice guys that do awsome work. I guess im not the only one that thinks their in “latrobe”
STFU for all the :greddy: IDIOTS that insisted to argue with me about the location of the shop. YENKO.NET says its in Latrobe… I think they would know best.
Hey, I know for a FACT that this place is in Latrobe. My parents live right up the road from the place. And, my brother worked at Howard Johnsons autosales. It’s right on Hillview Ave, across from the Church. The owner has a huge garage. However, I have heard that he really doesn’t do all the “GRUNT” work on the cars that he somewhat restores.
