seriously, that is rediculous.

that’s a lot of money for just a roller…

That is crazy. The old Yenko dealership is a bike shop now on Pike St. I drove past that place for years and even bought parts there before learning it used to be Yenko.

That sounds about right… especially for a 68… which is a lot rarer than a 69.

Jeez, the body isn’t even in that good of condition. Look at the rear passenger quarter panel.

sombodys been watchin Barrett-Jackson again

That’s how it goes with these cars… your paying for the VIN tag… I bet you that car sells with ease too…

maybe in good condition. that car looks pretty rough. besides, the only thing that seperated a yenko from a z28 was a big block.

what makes it so expensive is it is of of 64 made and who knows how many are still around

the car looks in decent, restoreable condition, but ain’t worth that kind of money IMO. I understand the improtance of the Yenko Camaros, Novas, & Chevelles, but they were just OEM crate motors installed in a production car. Anybody could do this on their own, but Yenko added a name & a warranty, so did this make them really special??? A COPO is a little more special, because they were built at the factory by factory employees & the package was engineered by Chevrolet.

Nothing says the motor/trans is included, nor are there any pics of the motor/trans. If the original motor/trans were with it, I could maybe see it. Even then it’s waaay too much money.

This is the BS that is ruining this hobby. All of the big $$ assholes buy these cars to be a part of the hobby, then spend absurdly amounts of money restoring them. Then they are afraid to drive them or they spend the rest of their life in a trailer/museum. I’m in it for the cars, yet I’ll never be able to afford the cars that I want.

Again, this is my opinion. I wish him luck on the sale.

they should put a 97 camaro in a fast and furious movie so then I can sell my car for an absurb amount of money…

one day all these baby boomers will die and all the current ricers wont know wtf a yenko is… then i will own them all

Yeah… and the fact that the Yenko is worth $300,000+ n growing… and a Z would cost you around 50k done decently right now. That is a big difference.

We did a tripple black COPO 69 Camaro… owner got it back and sold it for $400,000… so 100k for a chassis… that’s about right, you could buy that, restore it and still make 100-200k… not a bad deal.

If it was restored, I could understand that price and then some. Unrestored and rough, though… too much

i would send 250k to make 150-200k,u need to get a clue

[QUOTE=SP71Supra;730896]Yeah… and the fact that the Yenko is worth $300,000+ n growing… and a Z would cost you around 50k done decently right now. That is a big difference.

[QUOTE]

oh yea no doubt, but i was just saying that in reality the motor was the only difference, besides the name. but i guess it would be neat to say you have a yenko 1g camaro parked in your garage

The fact that tehre are a million and one Yenko Clones out getting sold for $75,000-$100,000 makes this one even higher in value.

But… it’s all in how much someone will pay. And as Tod mentioned before, it’s a lot of the big $$$ guys who goto Barrett Jackson and jack up the prices on a lot of these cars.

thats so true…

there is nothing different on this car than a regular 68’ camaro other than the little tag on the cowl

the car will never be original, so why spend that much money on it?

non original camaros are almost worthless, even if the buyer did pay that much money for that car, and re-do it to specs, i highly doubt he will get the money back that he spent on it unless he paints the car with an inch thick layer of gold and platinum

Oh yeah, and at $125k it’s still not at the reserve.

WOW

Yup… you guys also have to remember, its a 68, which is a lot rarer than a 69. Like I said earlier… a 69 tripple black COPO we just got done restoring… it got delivered back to Elk Grove, CA… the guy sold it for $400k probably within a month… and all of this was from “inside the loop” a lot of these cars that bring money are not on Barrett Jackson… there is a small group of big money guys, that own jets, etc… that just buy them up.

Ill have to try and dig up the pictures, but we got invited to a private inside car show / dinner at one of these guys businesses in Vegas when we were out there for SEMA 2 years ago. He owns a huge lumber company, very similar to Joe Hardy but on the west coast. The cars he had were unreal… he also hired hot ass women to serve drinks, etc. These people have so much money… they will pay anything for these cars and not flinch. So why not pay $150k for a car, put (overbudget) $100k into it… and sell it for 400k, thats $150k profit… not bad…
