Well, it looks like I need a new tranny. I haven’t pulled it out yet, but it goes in gear and the engine just revs. I pulled the pan off and there are bits and pieces all through the fluid. I think the clutches and bands are shot. :dunno:
Does anyone have anything to say about the TCI street fighter? Jeggs has the 200r4 for $1369 +shipping. It has a lifetime rebuild warranty($200) from TCI and no core required. Sounds good so far. But the rebuild warranty means shit if it needs rebuilt every month. So whadya think?
Thanks
A buddy of mine has gone thru 3 th350 TCI Streetfighters in the last year, and that is on a stock engine in his 82 c10 pickup… and he only drives that truck in the winter… He’s been fighting them for amonth now for them to cover all the costs, I dont know if thats just a fluke but it sorta scares me away from the TCI trannys
Thanks for the input guys. Looks like I’ll be looking for an alternative route. JJ recommended Hodge, anyone second that motion? Any other names/shops come to mind? I’ve heard horror stories about a few places, so I’m just looking for general ideas of who’s good.
Thanks
