Testing The Waters - 1994 Q45

Hey guys, I’m thinking of selling my '94 Q45a (converted to standard suspension) pretty soon here and was just curious as to what the lot of you would think is a fair price for it up here. She’s Navy blue, cream leather interior, new rad among many other things. She also is being sold with a BRAND NEW alluminum VH45DE under the hood (280-300hp and $10k JUST for the engine at the dealership… install not included). The active (hydraulic) suspension system will be replaced by the time of sale with a standard suspension system (keeping the larger sway bars). The chassis has 100k miles on it and the car is being brought up from Nevada, so it’s 100% rust free. She’s currently sitting on stock BBS rims and everything else is stock unless otherwise mentioned.

I could probably also throw in a complete Audiobahn system (1500-2000w RMS, dual 12s, class d amp, speakers, cap, wiring, etc) for an additional $1500.

As I said, I’m not selling it just yet… just testing the waters for now. Curious as to how much you guys would value the car at…

BTW, if there’s any other G50 Q owners here, post up!

Corey

Maybe 15,000. Do you have another Q45 other than this one? or did you used to live in Nevada?

Thanks. Just this one actually, but I have residence down there too. The story goes something like this… Bought the car down there a year ago, fixed it up while I was down there with the exception of the active suspension system. Left the car down there and was planning on going back in last spring/early summer. Turns out the “family friends” who I left the car with decided to drive the car without telling me (yes, without the working active suspension to boot!). Well didn’t they feel stupid when they had to call me and tell me #1, they’d been driving the car and #2. they overheated the engine (due to not checking the oil levels)!! If there was a #3. it’d be that they are claiming it’s not their fault and #4. would be that they don’t have money to help pay for it to boot!

It’s too nice of a car and I’ve got too much into it to part it out, so thought I’d restore it and sell it to keep up this BMW fetish I’ve been having lately. Besides, I’ve been a Q fanatic for the last year… Nissan definitely did an amazing job engineering this car.

Don’t suppose anyone else could throw out some well thought out numbers too, could they?

Corey

I suppose you could leave it in your own garage or in storage, if you own a condo or something else without a garage in Nevada, rather than with “family friends”. What’s the real estate market like in Nevada?

Good suggestion… and yeah I’m thinking I’ll have it put in storage right after it’s done. That or bring it up right afterwards. Real estate down in Vegas is sickly expensive. Outrageous how much it costs. It’s the fastest growing city in the states though, so what can you expect I suppose.

One of my favorite reasons to live in Nevada is no state income tax. I think it would be a good place to live.
