I am selling my 1995 Infiniti Q45, black exterior and interior. I am looking for $1500. I am moving to Australia in a month and need to get rid of this lovely car. I bought it 2.5 years ago from a Nico member, and it has been a pleasure to drive ever since. Since buying it, I installed a Nico ECU, I have replaced the fuel pump and sending unit, and I had to replace the transmission with a used tranny I got from a junkyard, but I paid extra for a lifetime part and labour warranty, so that is nothing to worry about. I also just replaced the front pads and rotors. Mechanically it is fine, always starts up right away with no weird noises to be concerned about. Idles nice and steady and powers smoothly all the way up to red line. I usually get about 600 - 650 km to a tank, and that is with about 75% highway driving, accelerating like a granny the whole time. The previous owner provided me with all the service records showing regularly scheduled oil changes (Mobil 1 Synthetic) and a recently changed oil and water pump (unfortunately I can not provide you with these records as they were in my other car when it was stolen). The body is in good shape in general with almost no rust since it was mostly garaged for the winters, but there are some trouble spots. There is a little dent on the driver’s side fender panel, and the paint on the corners of the rear bumper is cracked and peeling. The driver’s side rear window doesn’t work anymore, but I think it is the regulator since you can still hear the motor whirring when you try and raise or lower the window. The leather on the center console arm rest is split, but the rest of the leather in the interior is good. All the power seat and mirror adjustments work fine.
So to summarize:
The good:
Only $1500!!!
Nico ECU
recently replaced tranny, fuel pump + sending unit, water pump, oil pump
New front pads and rotors
Mechanically sound and well maintained
Good fuel efficiency, especially for these massive beasts
Virtually no rust
The bad:
minor dent on driver’s side in front of door
leather on arm rest is split
paint on corners of rear bumper a little worse for wear
driver’s side rear window doesn’t work
Somebody snap this up quick! I will post pictures soon for anyone interested.
Pictures will come soon. I work full time during the days, and I am frantically getting ready for my move to Australia, so I haven’t had time yet, especially since it gets dark so damn early. For those interested, I am going to get pics up soon, hopefully by the end of the weekend. Izzo, I am assuming you aren’t interested since you haven’t pm’d me about it, or asked anything constructive in the thread. kthxbye.
For the rest of you, here is an imagination exercise you can try until I get pics up. Imagine a black 1995 Q45 with a black leather interior. Now imagine you walk around to the back of the car, sensually caressing the door with it’s nice chrome handles as you walk past. You get to the back and you notice the paint on the rear bumper at the corners is a little cracked. “No big deal” you think to yourself as you are already picturing having 280 + horsepower under your right foot. You walk back to the driver’s door and you notice there is a small dent on the fender. “Meh” you think to yourself as you picture yourself settling into the supple leather seats. You open the door and settle down, it is everything you were anticipating and much much more. You slide the titanium key into the ignition and you pause for a second … a little afraid, but mostly curious. You know she doesn’t let just anyone key her ignition and it makes you feel good about yourself. You turn the key and she jumps to life. You listen to her, quiet and reserved, yet you know she is hiding something fierce. “Can I handle this?” you think to yourself. You slip the gearshift into drive and then … (to be continued)
