As March brings to a close we turn a new page in the chapter of Shift on the web.
This month with the help of the member community we shattered every monthly record! :wow Most new members, most page views, most posts, most topics, most online (official is at 33, 51 was with Google bots). More then doubling the January’s records of members, views and posts! :number1
Since we are constantly listening to the members and their views, this month we are going to try something new. No more posting member moderators. There will be dedicated anonymous moderators that will no longer participate in discussions and just do their job, and the old member-moderators will just become regular members. The problem that I’ve observed is that in this tight knit community when a moderator-member would make an action, the member who’s actions were questioned would take it personal since he knew the mod in the outside world, unlike most other online communities where you couldn’t take it personal, due to never meeting mod’s in person. This will split the personality from the punishment or the action. :ahh
I have also some tricks up my sleeve with new registered domain names which will go in action by the end of the year which will help our community, and that’s all I’ll say :ninja
I’m proud to say that we boast the most new posts daily and within just a few off season months, you, the members helped make this the most trafficked, busiest local community site in upstate.
So I would like to take a second and say Thank You to all the members that helped so far, and I’m looking forward to future months.
And special Thank You to '07 members, who have been here from the start. :thumb
Also new smiley’s will be implemented whenever I get a second.
I’m planing on getting rid of dated, simple but trusty SMF design and switching to Vb sometime this year with a flashier yet simple design as well, and building a main page to help put a spotlight on articles and E-version of Shift518 newspaper.
'08 will be a great year, and we will keep everybody entertained with regular contests and awards as well as coverage of shows and events we put on.
