Big thank you to Jeff for tickets to sundays nhra maple grove nationals. Now i can say i finally seen a john force 1/8 mile burnout, and alot of good racing. Especially in bike class. Racing was unreal in person.
In addition, some pittsburgh people were running rounds this weekend too! left after pro stock finals, so dont know how they did.
NHRA races are the shit… at Ponoma 2 years ago at the NHRA nationals when Jesse James had that MAC tools dragster, I was able to walk by him, not with him, but close enough that the lady checking the passes to get right in the staging lanes without her asking for my badge… thanks Jesse! It was one of the best races I have ever been to.
I agree…nothing like hearing a TF funny car or dragster. Also fun to watch all of the people run toward a fuel car in the pits when they fire it up, and then watch 90% of them run back holding ther breath and rubbing their eyes!
Lots of cool opportunities at NHRA events. Fun to meet guys like Force, Capps, and for me fun to meet Don Garlits.
Sucks that Columbus no longer exists, now will have to go to Norwalk or Maple Grove, and that adds an hour to the drive…
columbus is now going to be at norwalk from what i hear. Pro-stock is deffinitely the most entertaining to watch live. although top fuel when u have peddle fests or two cars pulling entire time is cool.
and walking the pitts was cool. i was smart enough to stay away from the pipes when they fired the cars up the gas smell though, id wear that shit as cologne.
