These cars are made tremendously well, even with some of the issues most people highlight(or lowlight). The quality of materials allows them to stay in good shape even if someone owning the car only sees it as just a car. Nice pickup, it looks like its in great shape.
Just an FYI, my car is going to Benz tomorrow for some more warranty work. Ill report back with final bill
Is your car an 03? I have been looking at these cars for awhile and the 03s tend to have a lot more issues it seems. 05-06 seems to be the way to go so i think i’ll hold out til they drop into my price range.
Most cars with around 100k are going to require repairs. Just quoting what the dealer final cost is does not = what it would cost someone to diy by a longshot. Post the part numbers that were replaced to give a better idea.

The chirp is ~$100 fix as well.
Nuff said. As someone who owned a car that was OMGSOEXPENSIVETOMAINTAIN I can honestly say it is mostly hype. If you want to be like me and say you have a warranty because you just flat out don’t want to deal with fixing a car when it breaks then fine. But for someone who desires to diy when the car has issues I hardly think this car has parts costs that are astronomical.
Mechanical is one thing, but its when you get into elctrical issues or componets that it really gets shitty quick.
Nice pick up!
Cars cool. Deffantly a pleasure to drive around in and it doesent stop pulling.good buy.and yea ull have it sold in a few months for somethin jdm
Yep sure can be. However this is true with any car. Should we all only have warrantied cars because we might have electrical problems?
My point is that this car hardly is in the OMGZZZ needs warranty category IMO. Would I own one without, no I wouldn’t but that is purely because I do not desire to have my dd be my problem at all but not because of the cost of parts or diagnosis.
For many I would say it is needed. For anyone that can afford it I endorse it just for peace of mind. But I stand firm that parts alone are not going to be disheartening and if you have the will and means to do the work which few do then you are fine owning something like this with no coverage.
Basically as someone who knows Alex well and his abilities first hand I am positive that he will be a ok with no coverage.
fuck, what was I doing wrong at the age of 19? haha, nice pick up… I’m thinking about getting one of these ASAP if I move back to AZ
ditching the sti already?
Not living at home?
According to kbb its a 20k-ish car. Not really all that expensive.
4reelz I bought an f-body 1yr old with 9k on it when i was 19. Living in govt assisted housing in Charlotte hahahaha.
I am currently living at home but I pay rent as it is bc my parents are assholes.
I actually still have a nice lump sum of cash in the bank. I plan on buying a house in the fall.
I work two jobs and flipped over 23 cars to get where I am. I also do a few side jobs fr construction.
Fuck it im moving back home
Do it.
I bought the warranty on mine because of all the shit it covers that I don’t want to deal with… like all of the gadget shit. Changing an alternator is easy (unless it is on my Cobra) but letting someone else deal with it is nice too.
Nice buy… I almost had one too.
for sale already??
NAH, keeping the sti, I love it…perfect daily with the heated seats and wipers…blue tooth and shit
haha, man, if I lived at home, i’d be driving a zr-1, or a viper acr…and pick bitches up and slay them in my parents basement.
actually, now that I think about it, I’m a hypocrite. I bought a new GTI when I was 19 or something and that was like 22k + tax
These things are so sick… what kinda auto transmission do they have? Is is a conventional auto with a torque converter or is it a SMG type?
If I wasn’t building dumb projects, lived at home, wanted my DD to break and have bald tires I’d rock an E55 AMG too
I should just go back to the basement slam cave.
Get where you are?
Is spending 20 on a used amg suddenly a status symbol?
