Completely OT but surprised they did Fireball as the guy who runs it is a KNOWN scammer and it’s the events last year.
+1 at the first step being major weight reduction. The evo X is so weird to look at. It’s so far off from what all the other evos look like. Do IX and XIII etc owners like the X or hate it?

AMS is gonna have two of the fastest Attack cars in the world this year. They dominated the US last summer and they are going global this summer. I wish them luck. There main competition is the Cyber Evo and the HKS factory evo which is pretty much untouchable.
For those of you unfimilar with the rules of unlimited AWD time attack, anything goes. They are ballistic.

That would be a great match to watch, but I haven’t seen AMS winning time attack series in the US except for winning some events in 2007 so I’m confused by this:
What time attack series was AMS running in the last year? I see a video of their car on the Redline website, but don’t see them in the Redline time attack series results for 2008 unless they’re the Evo in 7th place. The first 6 places in unlimited AWD are taken by Subarus, the 7th place is an Evo and 8th a skyline.

The obviously know their shit and while I cant imagine this car being more ideal then a IX platform to work from, im sure they will drop some considerable weight.

Sorry, AMS hasn’t entered their car since 07. They spent last year doing R&D on the new car. In 07, The AMS TA1 won the majority of Redline events. Last year, no Evo’s were really entered in the Redline series as Unlimited AWD cars. The 7th place car you are refering to is the Evasive Motorsports car which is a Limited AWD class car.
AMS retired the TA1 pretty much after it got spanked by the HKS Evo at the 07 Super Lap Battle. Just for reference the HKS Evo won the 07 Super Lap Battle and has the fastest lap record at Buttonwillow with a lap time of 1:43.523. In the 08 Super Lap Battle, which the HKS car was not in, the winning car (Team Tarzan STI) had a lap time of 1:44:372.

On the forums they said they wanted to build a car at par with the HKS and Cyber time attack cars with the intention of running with them. I think global economics is gonna decide on what actually happens. I know HKS sent their car to the US in 07 and it made the AMS TA1 look like it was running on snow tires. I’m sure any Evo owner who gives a damn about these cars would love to see AMS run with the big boys and hopefully be competitive. I don’t know what is gonna happen this year though because money is tight for everybody. I’m honestly surprised that AMS is building one time attack car and I was shocked to hear they were giving this X the same treatment. I’ve herd rumors that AMS wasn’t doing so good lately and hope they can weather the economic storm and lay down some rubber with the JDM time attack monsters. As far as where the showdown is gonna be, I’m not sure but, hopefully it will happen this summer.
