Insanity… watching it pull away on the back straight is sooo impressive…
Any specs on the bike?
All i’ve seen is 194 hp… and electic… lol… its only good for about 10 laps max right now…
They said it didnt even run the warmup lap due to it being unable to run the 6 lap race.
Give it time… soo impressive watching it take off when he hits the “boost” button
Cool stuff. It doesn’t sound as good though.
Once stuff like this starts popping up in racing it’s only a matter of time before it catches on and is tamed and taken to the streets. Yeah it may only be good for 10 laps right now, but that’s going all out. If it were on the street it would probably last a hell of a lot longer.

Between this and the hummingbird robot thread i have to say the future is pretty exciting…or scary(skynetcoughcough)
Sweet, I can dig it.
I think we will see another 2 wheel drive bike in the future. With electrics adding AWD really makes sense. And before anybody says oh it will be to heavy or it will mess up the handling bla bla bla I just want to remind you of a company called audi and a sport called rally racing… ANYWAY. with electric motors on both wheels brakes could be completely be eliminated and the integration of traction, ABS, and wheelie control would be extremely responsive and tunable to driver preference. Regenerative braking might also extend the track time significantly… so many possibilities.
I just drooled on my shirt…
We are going to have to agree to disagree on that one. The added weight of the front motor would really hurt the bikes dynamics. Before you disagree and start gabbing moight I remind you of a little thing called gyroscopic effect. Unless they go with a hubless wheel type of setup which would initially be super expensive and not all that great.
Willy I would give a left nut to own an electric bike 10 years from now when the oil companies finally take hold of the alternative energy market and battery technology catches up to the motors electrical demand. For now though I feel that battery tech hold the electric bike back wuite a bit. I mean come on 194HP?!? the torque figure cant be too far off from that, not to mention that the max torque output will be available at any rpm.
You’re probably not as smart as you think you sound with this comment.
Meh, I dont want an AWD bike.
I’m still a novice rider but in my head all the things I touched on would cut track times. I imagine it would change riding style quite a bit just like AWD changes driving style in a car quite a bit. I have no idea what it would do to the fun factor, because in the end what else really maters.
Hydraulics…
and this:
“…the spinning wheel creates gyroscopic stability to balance the whole bike. In the corners testers found they could accelerate harder round corners with none of the understeer that would normally cause.”

I wonder if it would be possible to use a variable vain Hydraulics pump to use that to drive a bike or vehicle instead of a mechanical link.
