i don’t think the police had as much of a problem with the pellet gun as a there also being a crossbow and tanks of gasoline. those are some pretty serious things to have around a summit of all the world leaders. of course for security reasons the man has been arrested. I really think everyone has to stop complaining about their rights being revoked i mean what was that guy whining about rights doing anywhere in that area if he had a problem about showing his ID. they have people doing violent protest going on they need to be so strict as far as security.

Come on the guy with a frickin crossbow was obviously just a sensational fluke, there were no propelled or combustible weapons of any kind actually used, even by the worst of the provocateurs

They said the largest crowd was around 10,000 people, but most of that number were either gawkers or peaceful protesters, the people causing real trouble were probably in the hundreds

went down just to see for my self met a guy protesting against American clothes… said he was really just protesting for the sake of protesting. I kinda got that feeling from most the people i saw, seemed like they were protesting just cause thats what they do. this just makes me dissapointed in canadians we are supposedly easy going. as far as the videos above you don’t really know what the situation is leading up to that they may have a perfectly valid reason.

This I find amusing. Seems the majority is quick to bash the police. It also seems that most are quick to assume that those in uniform are either stupid or lack motivation. While you have your assholes in uniform, there are also those that put there lives on the line for the public. Exactly. You have no idea what was going on prior to that 45 second clip. They may have been asked to get out of the street long before the massive police wall showed up but refused. I know one thing, that many police don’t just materialize out of thin air.

You mentioned many protesters being there just for the sake of protesting. That keeps bringing me back to my idea of not holding these things in the middle of major cities. An hour drive would eliminate the majority of the “casual protesters”.

1.) Canada is not in the world cup. Why would people go there to root for a team that isn’t in it? That’s like going to Johannesburg with a Maple Leafs or Sabres jersey.
