The get-to-know-each-other thread

very nice allen! i didn’t know what to say for mine! but yours was awsome

well I would say I am the only one on the east coast LOL.

My name is Ryan I live in Moncton N.B.I am driving an S14 that is soon to be under going a S15 motor swap.I lived in Banff Alberta last year but moved back home.I am 25 I am a metal fabricator and build ambulances for a living.

I’m Vicki, a Mechanical Engineering Technology student at NAIT. Hopefully in the summer I’ll get some sort of car settlement for my old car and get another 240. I’ll be working for Halliburton this summer, so my “summer car” will be a big red Halliburton truck. I hope to get an engineering degree a few years after i finish NAIT.

Hey Sally, I’ll be driving an ugly brown GMC pickup with loads of shovels, hand tools and a 300L Diesel tank in the bed. Wanna race?

Anyone else who drives a service vehicle at work wanna get in on this action? :E

LOL

Ok, but i’m not sure how much weight I’ll be packing around. Hmmm… Maybe I’ll get a Diesel tank too!

IM bob, and im 26 currently working at an engineering company as a mechanical designer (with a no previous education).
MY long awaited 240 project is on hold. :(.
Getting married in june, building a house in the hamptons. and all that pretty much it.
ohh and going for stag party in vegs :E

Im RJ, 20 years old, im an automotive apprentice at a local nissan shop usually. Im in school at NAIT right now taking my 3rd year apprenticeship training and will be done april 2005.

Im currently driving a 1995 240SX which i purchased May 2004. Before I had that, i drove my parents’ 92 240SX fastback. I wish i had money to put into my car, but tools are too damn expensive, but im getting stuff slowly…

I am Bryce, i am 17 i am currently attending Harry Ainlay high school in grade 12. I drive a Nissan Pathfinder, which some people say i spend too much time with… I will be attending Nait in a couple years doing Heavy Equipment Technology, i am also a 1st year apprentice in it. My current activities are such things and Mountain biking (freeriding and Hucking) anything to do with nissans or most cars for that matter. I work at Marks Work Wearhouse in south edmonton common, i will be leaving there as soon as i get a job somewere else. so people if you have weekend employment on the south side let me know.

I look forward to meeting everybody and having good times when the meetings and such begin

You know what - there are a disturbing majority of people here that are either gainfully employed or in school! Like, WTF!?! Where are all the slacker bums like me?

Just remember kids, don’t let anyone tell you that living off the government isn’t a valid career choice! :E

check out the diversity on this thread… its good to know we can all get together for the simple appreciation of one thing… anyways…

Most people call me Jack, Been out of school a few years, self employed, pretty lazy, singlish life, enjoys good food, movies and jsut relaxing with friends.
I first fell in love with Nissans when I was a kid and I saw a bright red Z32 300ZX in the parking lot. I was barely old enough to read and I couldnt; even see over the spoiler. My first real car was a 200SX turbo and I’ve an S14 right now with a SR inside but one day I’d like to do up the car I originally fell in love with.
I’ve recently calculated how much I spend on upgrades over the last 2 monthes and I think I’m gonna shoot myself. anwyays…

I’m Matt, 25, journalism student, psychiatric aide. Like Dave I’m graduating in just under 6 weeks and then taking on a 6-week internship in the Driving section at the Edmonton Journal. Who knows, that could possibly even turn into a more permanent job. I enjoy cars, women and politics…if those three intermingle, all the better. Eventually I might even get into politics myself, but that will not be for quite some time.

Before that I worked in the petroleum industry in several different fields. Heavy equipment mechanic (which I did the first two years of schooling for at NAIT), dangerous goods transportation, and I also worked at a small newspaper.

As for cars, my Z31 is my first venture into the world of Nissans/Datsuns, but I doubt it will be my last. For years I thought about purchasing a 240 and I very nearly purchased one of the first SR swapped 240s in Edmonton. I’d love to pick up an R32 Vspec II when they become legal, but that will be a few years down the road. For now I’ll concentrate on getting my funds together to buy a house next spring/summer.

Hi my name’s Rommel, been on and off with meets here and looks like there are more Spec V’s around now. Currently working as a Software Tester for a Payroll/HR company and also teach taekwondo in the evening. pretty much pull in 14 hrs a day 6days a week and ONLY sunday off…brutal. :E i’m into sportbikes(Yamaha R6) alot now than really doing anything to my ride but when it’s paid off, this will have a GO and a few cosmetics done to it. It’s only lowered and a decent sytem but hopefully i can add a few things here adn there(ie…CAI,Cat back system and header…then wayyyyy in the future a turbo for it).

I hope to see some of you guys at a few meets in the summer.

and by the way, if you happen to have a sportbike and not really know who to ride with or just to meet nice people to ride with stop here www.edmontonsportriderz.com
i’m on here as DriftR6 and I believe matt(chromedragon is there as well) and Zazam.

cheers! :partyman:

Well my internship wont be at the Journal. I will be doing general assignment at the Saint City News. So all you St. Albert people, look for me!

OMFG! SPEC V RYDER HAS A SPEC V! BAN HIM, BAN HIM NOW! We can’t have any Spec V’s in our 240sx club.

If you need help installing those mods dude, let me know. I just did some of my own work and didn’t break anything significant.

Damn! I think I am the oldest dinosaur in this club at 34! :scared

My name is Archie. I got my B.Sc. from the U of A in '92 and worked as a Chemist for 5 years before taking a couple of years off to get hitched, start a family, and change careers. I got into IT just in time to watch the tech bubble burst :headache: DOH! Now that I’ve clawed my way up to a decent job in this field, petrochemicals is booming with the price of oil at record highs. I have the worst timing ever :wall: LOL.

Currently, I am a Support Analyst at the Alberta Teachers Association. I have two 5 year old twin girls, a 14 month old daughter, and another baby on the way. My wife Krystal is a full time mom, so most of my income goes to mortgage, car payments, utilities, groceries, clothes, etc. She gets to drive a brand new minivan, but I prefer my 1st Gen Altima by far.

It is my daily driver and a year-round workhorse. Budget limitations keep mods for the car on a strictly break/fix basis: I did a clutch/flywheel/shifter upgrade when the clutch started slipping; I put in a full exhaust when the muffler rusted out; and now I am doing an engine rebuild to high compression because the timing chain was rattling. Next, I need to figure out how to break the suspension :chin: . . . maybe I should go off-roading with some of you Pathy owners :smirk:

hahha…just curious, how much did you pay for your Nismo CAI?..I really like their product and the fact that they have warranties on them too.

my name is josh. im 17 and drive a 1989 180sx, i currently go to st francis xaviour high school and plan on going to nait for mechanics and bussiness. i work at moxies in WEM. thats about all for now.

Hey yo Rommel yeah I’m on here too, looks like I may have a lead on a CBR :chin:

Nice. You have come to inlighten us on what? photo radar spots i hope!

Well, the Nismo CAI is an R-Tune part, which means that it ISN’T covered by a warranty, and if you buy any of the Nismo stuff at Ericksen it’s pre-pay only and non-returnable. Don’t worry about the peeps that tell you you need to cut the inner fender, you only need to take out a half inch and it’s no big deal if you know what to do.

I got mine for around $300 shipped from Ebay. Don’t bother looking at dealerships for Nismo stuff, Nissan Canada is charging a buttload for their parts.

S-Tune - covered by warranty:
Catback system
Front Sway Bar
Coilover Set
Nismo Rims

R-Tune - no warranty at all:
CAI
Headers (Cat/No cat)
Cams
Lower Tie Bar
Rear Sway Bar
Front Tower Strut Bar (waste of money)

I posted the prices of the Nismo stuff Ericksen quoted me here:

Well, now that we’re thoroughly off topic.
