are you paying full retail or getting it for the 2 year price?
16GB; for a 32 i would say around 5 hours you would get
Thanks
So they new Iphone 4 seems to be a way better buy than the Ipad. Im pretty excited about it!
what? it’s not a competing product to the ipad.
$199 and $299 respectively.
I know but it seems like it can do the same things, actually more then the ipad, i mean the ipad i guess is nice since its bigger and easier to use for the internet, but it doesn’t have a camera…idk
Jobs said anyone with a contract expiring in 2010 was eligible for upgrade in what I read.
If your looking for something strictly for internet usage, stick to the iPad. If you want an ipod, phone, text, occasional web browsing, and email then get the iphone.Comparing the two and deciding which one would be best is really a smart idea as they are advertised differently.
You guys get more excited about phones than I do about buying new cars… wtf. lol
I did get an iphone for work, it’s pretty useful but holy crap you guys are nerds.
^
I’m considering this, my phone was giving the first signs of crapping out on me the other day.
I really don’t want to sign another contract, since I’ve been out of one for a few years, but other than feeling good, it doesn’t buy me much. I haven’t been a fan of not having a keyboard, but thats mostly because I haven’t used one, I’m sure I"d get used to it.
I can’t tether w/out jailbreaking or having a tether plan correct?
Do I really need a 32GB? I likely won’t load more than a few gigs of MP3s on if any at all, I don’t use my phone like that. Do apps start eating space fast? I don’t think I’ll be loading movies on it.
Debating something like this, or jumping ship to Sprint/Verizon for some of the other offerings…decisions decisions.
Most apps don’t use much space at all. The exception I have is the TomTom app which installs the 1.2 GB map database. Unless you have a big MP3 collection that you want to sync the entire thing to the phone 16gb should be fine though. How much you plan to use that 720p video camera might be an issue too though.
Can’t imagine why I’d be wanting to film big 720p videos to be honest. If I wanted a HD Cam, I’d just buy one, there are plenty of cheap options out there that probably work better. I find it obnoxious to have such huge files from a low quality camera anyway…
That’s what I was thinking as well. I’m willing to bet I will make use of the HD video on the fly. I didn’t realize 5MP was considered low quality.
I know I’ll end up using the video camera a lot for short clips with the kid because I always have my phone on me and it’s always charged, unlike my real video camera. But for any long videos that would take up a ton of room I’ll just use my real camera and stick with the cheaper 16gb phone.
Exactly, I grab vids and pics all the time with my handy dandy cell phone, but I hardly need them to be 720p. That is just going to make ginormous files to mess with after the fact.
I don’t know. I feel like the iPone is likely the more mature (product wise) choice right now, and that maybe I’ll do iPhone4 and then switch to android after some more time passes. I was thinking the same with 4g, while the coverage in my area is apparently pretty darn good, why buy the first 4g phone?
why do people keep thinking the files will be big? the iphone does native H.264 so files should be very reasonable in size.
What is reasonable? Most people have A LOT of music that they will want to sync up, plus app data, ebooks, etc…it’s a legitimate concern.
Seems that HD video will run approximately 4GB/hour. I am lazy and never have my camera on me so I will most likely go with the 32GB version.
4GB / hour is PLENTY. what you are planning on recording that’s an hour long with an iphone anyway. (don’t answer that). plus you can remove it from the phone, you don’t have to keep it forever.
I don’t think I’ve ever shot more than 4-5 minutes at a time with my 3GS. The lens is so small that it’s only really any good for “hold me beer and watch this” moments.
