iOS 8 is out today
I have a feeling with the pre-orders going as quickly as they did and 4 million phones being sold in the first 24 hours your chances of getting one on launch day at a store are going to be pretty slim unless you want to camp out all night.
Actually, chances may be better. They didn’t do pre-orders last year, which is why I went to store.
The VZW store that I went to had plenty of phones. Highly doubtful that if you call they’ll have any information.
I’ll be searching for manual download links of iOS8 as soon as it drops, since it will be impossible to download for several hours through itunes/device. Will post links here when I find them.
I’ll toss iOS 8 on the iPad tonight and wait a few days to see if there are any critical problems before I update the wife’s phone.

Downloaded iOS8 from UB’s proxy when I couldn’t even get Apple’s server to respond. One of the few perks here, VERY few perks.

Yeah, this update can kiss my ass already. Just deleted half the shit off my ipad and still don’t have enough space.
Any reason you can’t just plug it into a computer and let iTunes do the update? Then you don’t need to download the whole thing to your device first. Plus you can get a real good backup before you update just in case it all goes to shit.

Anyone doing an update of this magnitude without first capturing a local backup is insanity wolf.
I’m pretty sure you can install it through itunes when connected to a computer and then you don’t need to clear space.
