My iPhone does not seem to like swimming pools. Been using a blackberry until my insurance claim goes through for a new one.
I personally do not see why people like blackberrys.

Are you sure there isn’t an app for that? iFloat maybe?
That would be sweet if they made a phone water proof
Are there any good NES emulators for the iPhone, and if so, which one is the best?
wait i thought they didn’t even offer insurance?
I got it through Square trade. Cost me $80 for 3 years with accidental damage coverage. They will pay for a replacement if you break it for $50 and for free on warranty.
I’ve been through 2 iPhones (first one was dropped, second one fought a baby’s mouth, the mouth won) and moved onto a Curve. Left the Curve on my trunk, and haven’t seen it since.
I’m thinking of getting the 3Gs tomorrow, I haven’t read through too much here, but, overall good improvements?
If you don’t have an iPhone, the 3GS is a good buy. If you are someone who just bought a 3G last year, there isnt really much to pay the early upgrade becuase you are going to pay the same thing again when the 4G phone comes out next year. You do miss video but with jailbreak apps, you can get the video recoding app yourself. There is some graphic and memory improvements too and faster speeds but like I said, if you have a 3G now, I haven’t seen a reason to pay the extra $200 early upgrade fee right now just to deal with it again next year.
Cydia stopped working ughhhh
It crashes as soon as you click it.
Working fine here. You try rebooting?
Yes I tried rebooting…
People fixed it by using apt-get and reinstalling Cydia only issue is I never installed apt-get and I need Cydia to install it.
As a newbie with the iPhone and the 3Gs, only having it since Thursday, I love it. I haven’t jailbroken it yet, since I wanted to get used to the stock settings. But it’s quick, flows amazingly, easy to use, great sound quality, nice pictures and video… All I can say is holy crap, it’s so worth the $$$
shhh…go jailbreak it…takes 2 seconds…and you pick up on everything pretty quick.
If you go to the terminal as root and type apt-get you dont have it? I thought it was part of cydia since its the front end for apt…
Good call, thanks.
I’m still under a family plan with my dad who lives in Saratoga, we already have unlimited everything since we both use our phones all the time for business and harassing girls.
He went to AT&T, and all the 3Gs’ were sold out, so he just picked up a 3G 8GB for me and wants to use it for a few days to see how he likes it.
Yes apt-get is MIA lol
this happened to me the other day, Here is how is done.
SSH into your IPhone.
Navigate to etc/apt/sources.list.d
find the file cydia.list
If you are using WinSCP, right click onit and select EDIT
Delete : deb http://cydia.any source.com/ ./
Save and exit.
reenter sources manually after it works again
I guess Mobile Maps released 7.71.2 which fixes the issue with the GPS directions stopping your tunes and never starting them back up. Probably look for it tonight.
For a hacker, you sure as hell have a hard time working a cell phone.
I haven’t looked at it past apt-get not being there…The terminal program I have on the phone sucks and I haven’t had a chance to put the phone on my wifi.
