If you don’t have a good reason to jailbreak don’t waste time it opens you up to all kinds of issues
Really? In all the iphones I had jailbreaking never caused any issues. It’s nothing like running a custom rom on android, which I’ll agree does nothing but open you up to all kinds of issues.
Like the fact you’re allowing your phone to run unsigned code? or all the people who jailbreak automatically install ssh and forget its root/alpine

What carrier still offers unlimited data and reasonable speeds? I’m grandfathered on ATT unlimited LTE, and its throttled to nearly useless speeds past 5GB/mo. It’s reasonable to hit that cap after a few hours of light tethering.
Everyone I know who says “OMG I STILL HAVE UNLIMITED” uses 2Gb a month lol

whats the real deal benefits for the avg phone user?
Not to mention most corporate EMM policies forbid jailbroken devices. I know there are some cool add-ons but I don’t see much of a point.
I’m not an iphone user, but when it comes to root/jailbreak, I generally tend to recommend not doing it unless your uber-familiar with the process, the risks and how to responsibly comb through all of the potentially malware infested apps that are out there. It can be cool, but if you’re not careful all of the time, it can cause you some major issues.
How do you possibly use so much data? I tether my laptop (with VPN) probably an average of 2 hours per day, and up to 8 hours on some days, watch videos, surf all the forums etc and do work-related activity (email attachments etc etc) and I’ve only once gone past my data limit of 4gb.
Most of the time when I’m tethering, I happen to be in a hotel with stupid expensive extremely slow internet. I usually download a few shows or something for the flight back, that could be an easy 10GB. In a good LTE area, I can plow past the 5GB cap in 20 minutes or less. Thats assuming its a new month and no data was used previously.
5GB is pathetic. I’ve used >100GB many times with a 7.2MBPS HSDPA handset. With true unlimited LTE I would ditch the residential TW connection and push TB’s easy.
I like to view porn at hotels and then play the videos loud so others can hear them.
