So… My old 2g with a bad digitizer needs to be sold! I want to put it on ebay, but first i want to make sure i take off all my contacts and any other info that shouldnt go to the new owner if it were sold. Should i delete all the apps, themes, vids, ring tones i downloaded? I want to make sure its unlocked and jailbroken correctly so people are willing to bid on it. Figured i would see if theres a quick way to do it!
i’m really on the fence about just going and gettin an iphone. i’m just worried because of the horror stories i’ve heard about the bill somehow being a lot more than it should be. anyone run into any billing problems with the iphone? with the plan i’m looking at, it would be about $90/month plus taxes and i get my small 8% discount. the reps at at&t say my bill will be $100/month, but i don’t know if some stupid charges are gonna crop up.
Do the erase all settings in the phone itself. It takes a long time so plan on about 4 hours to do a 16gb 3G?
its still a legit cell phone plan. people who buy the iphone sometimes dont understand that on a new cell phone plan, you pay for prorated data and voice for the rest of the current month and then the full rate next month so you may have a first bill of twice the normal payment.
So I want to tether… Read about the free hack for non-jb iPhones, but you can lose vvm or mms? Should I just jb instead?
I really dont care about anything else on a jb phones, just want net access from a laptop.
Also please tell me Im not the only one with horrendous wifi since 3.0?
3.0.1 - read the problems on the iphone forums…heard the same story from a friend, and I now have the same issue. I want to say I was fine on 3.0…but problems started after 3.0.1.
Issue is sporadic Dropped wifi…have to be 20 ft from my AP to keep solid connection. Keep getting prompted for my AP password, or getting “cannot connect”.
They definitely changed wifi on 3.0+ as part of their battery power conservation enhancements…but this is ridiculous.
i kind of had the same problem with wifi but i dont remember if i was on 3.0 or not but i solved it by switching to frequency to G-only instead of N and worked perfect ever since
its odd…there are no guids or identifiers for apps in the plist files themselves…? only reference is based on the folder in which the file lives?
was thinking about modifying some application files without having to jb, but i don’t understand the file structure or how plist files, other than system/config files “know” to update.
Well the jailbreak allows you to actually have access to the plist files and iPhone filesystem. They typically are in the folders of the application you are looking for but you need to know what you are doing to edit them.
Also, anyone who uses Gmail should check out Gpush. Its a great app and gives you notifications of new messages in seconds of receiving them.
Ya I grabbed the cracked version originally to make sure it worked and was fixed. I now bought it for $.99 to support the developer since I use the app every day.
