As a film measured against all others I give it a 3.5/10. BUT, if you go into it looking for its pure entertainment value (which you would be an idiot to do otherwise) you may find it is remarkably good for such a bad movie.
SFX suck, plot sucks, there are a few priceless one-liners, and lots of bewbs. I have to say I started watching this one half expecting to turn it off after 15 min and go take a nap, but I sat through the whole thing and came away pleasantly surprised.
As bad movies go: 8/10
the Spirit - 7/10, real cool movie, i love the black and white with some color picture, it was very similar to sin city with less gore and violence. plus you get to see Eva Mendez nakey.
The Taken - 10/10 this was a sweet fucking movie. It is not even in theaters yet. its set to come out i think this summer.
its about a 17/18 year old, that goes to Paris with her friend to stay at the friends cousins place.
long story short, the two girls get kidnapped and sold for prostitution while the father of the one (some sort of ex government trained official) goes to Europe to search and find the girls and the people that kidnapped them to kill them.
This is one of those, sit-thru-it-and-there-is-an-AHA-payoff-at-the-very-end.
But you don’t have to wait that long. But it’s really telegraphed, and if you have a 10IQ or above, you know what’s going on just 10 minutes into the flick. Some scenes towards the end should have been edited, because by then it just gets too long and you’re waiting for the inevitable.
It was pretty clear, based on the previews, what was going to happen in this movie. Brad Pitt was born with the body and ailments of an 85 year old man, but of course he is just a baby. As he ages, he looks and feels younger. It was a good story and interesting to see how different situations in life are handled by the other characters in the movie. People treat Benjamin like an old man and assume things about him, but he is really only a teenager. You have to always keep in mind that fact that he is not what everyone else thinks. I found myself doing a lot of math in this movie as they leave the years and ages of people somewhat ambiguous at times. Overall, a good flick and story, but not a ton of things happen. I felt a little like there should have been more events in the story. But I like David Fincher as a director and I thought this was a very good movie.
Speed Racer: 7/10 Little slow, but like the Matrix it really broke new ground in the effects department. If you’ve ever raced anything you had to like the final race.
Just saw Valkyrie…My hopes weren’t set too high for this movie, but I was pleasantly surprised. I’d recommend to anyone interested in Historical Thrillers. It’s not a war movie by any means, but an interesting look at a true event which may have been able to stop WWII.
Just finished watching , Bigger Faster Stronger, meh if you wanna know about people using roids and shit and how they portray steroids as not that bad give it a watch. If your thinkin about gettin onthe juice this will convince you its a good idea. 5/10
