Any place that we are hanging out illigally at is doomed from the start. Which is part of the reason that that we get kicked out. Any place where we are allowed to hang out, would usually have a representative who’s responcible for the whole lot to the owner, and nobody wants to take that responcibility.
Then there are places that we are allowed to be, without the police minding as long as we don’t cause heavoc IE Park & Ride. I say we start off the season with P&R and see how it goes.
nobody wants to take a responcibility because odds are we are going to be embarrassed by who ever we ask when we get kicked out because of that certain honda crowd that we all know of
i might make a suggestion. and that is do NOT try to meet up at colonie center / crossgates mall / northway mall etc. i was taking pictures of my friends porsche in the crossgates lot after a late movie, and the security guard rolled up after about 4 minutes. he told us to pack it up and leave, which we did, but he still called the cops anyways. cops ended up following us to the dennys we were at and issued a ticket to ted for an unrelated matter.
Yup. I remember we were having a Subaru meet there a couple years back. Probably a good twenty cars, all parked in line in the lot in front of Tuesday’s. Not doing anything stupid, playing music or being miscreants. Just parked there with the hoods down, a bunch of car geeks with expensive toys. We were just waiting for everyone to arrive and we were ready to go on inside and grab a bite to eat, when the local Police decided to make a showing and boot everyone out. Didn’t matter that we were there peacefully as customers, PARKED and planning on giving a lot of business to the restaurant. Nope. We were car guys in a large group, so we may as well have had tattoos and been an armed street gang.
I resented that a lot. The businesses lost out on probably a thousand dollar tab from people who held good jobs, some who had families and none who were there to cause problems. I"m sick of being stereotyped as some sort of young punk street racer just because I enjoy modifying vehicles and occasionally taking them out around town to some place of business. It seems the police or security take every opportunity at some of these venues to make us feel unwelcome, as if we’re the stain that drives all their business away and causes bad press. It really kills me when they can treat enthusiasts in such a negative way, without any behavior meriting that kind of prejudice.
Guaranteed the day I roll up with 10 Ferrari owners, we’ll be ushered inside like VIP’s. Profiling really can get ridiculous sometimes.
I work the same time every day. just saying ill be there, and around what time. i was waiting for someone to say we’ll be gone by then. just so i know its not a waist of time

I cant imagine how much McDonalds lost out on this year. Tho not everyone was a customer, just bringing that many people there 2-3 nights a week couldn’t have hurt. Unfortunately, there were a few violent occurances at the old McDonalds/Kohls lot. Hopefully that doesent happen this year and the ill tempered people will just stay home and play Grand Theft Auto or something.
:angry2< :nono
you guys ever try the open lot on New Loudon Rd just past kmart / golds gym next to lake shore apartments? that lot is almost always empty…well except for the few cars of the people that actually goto that church that used to be grand union.
ive seen some car guys there later at night in the summer.
Yeah but theres a difference in hanging out up front. I work back there at night and ride my quad constantly through there. Never had a problem with cops patroling through there much. At night theres no one there around after 10pm except overnight workers, and they could careless. Like stated before, its just a matter of how people act.
That goes the same for anywhere. The cops never bothered us at Kohls until people started getting into fights over shit.
When I was in Colorado they had an awesome police escorted Sonic Cruise every Saturday Night. We met up at one Sonic, hung out for a while, then got a police escort to the Sonic across town, and hung out some more. Somethig like that would be great…
