The new setup for 06..

hooooly crap mike :jawdrop:

cant wait to get a ride in it when its done

or even better, can i drive it again? :stuck_out_tongue:

:whogives:

KB + Nitrous + Bassani Long Tubes = Gayness

Have fun with that slow POS.

I’ll give you a ride in my turd if I can get a ride in yours. :wiggle:
Yeah I know, it doesn’t seem fair.

OMG thats going to be one fast vert OMG …Luckey

Yeah I like the look of the roll bars that they make for the newer stang verts with the plastic covers.

wow Mike…you are gonna be crazy fast

 I guess there is a happy ending to all that time in the sand

X…

I’m really excited for you, and if you want to keep the IRS… I suggest getting the new kit that is out for ~3k that tightens everything up, and makes it handle like a ferarri

Ferrari handling in a Mustang?? Not likely.
And with that HP he just needs strong half shafts. Launching on those drag radials with stock half shafts = 24.5 60ft time

its not just the shafts that blow out in those… its the whole ass end.

And yes… after some bolt ons and the IRS fix the guys who tested it paced a porsche and a ferarri around the track.

stock internal?

hells yes stock internals… stock heads… stock cams… STOCK STOCK STOCK!!!

ive seen totally stock internal cobras hit 800+wheel if im not mistaken it may be alot more…there all forged from the factory.

Thanks.

I’m useing a little PVC DIY one I made. LOL
I forgot the guy that was making this res? If you havn’t seen it it looks realy good.

Is that KB the AutoRotor or still a Lyamish (sp?) style. Did you get the KB because the whipples haven’t started production yet?

Thats a GORD HE right? It’s pretty bad ass how much that thing holds I think i’m gona try to fit that or simalar on my gp. My IC system only holds about 1.2 gallons tottal, And isn’t enogh for long 140 pulls (added a temp gauge) with a 2.6 2.55. If you upgrade the pump, I don’t think you need to? But a local GP guy will buy it, maybe even the stock HE, but i’s pretty small, now that I looked into it.

:wtf:

Whipple does make a supercharger for the 03-04 Cobras. I know someone local who purchased it at the very late last spring. I think Kennedys tuned it with water injection to around 540 rwhp

hrmm didnt know that.

it can be done but for how long is the question

how long?

Well… since March of 03. 2 clutches, 2 trannys… and lots of tires later

Thanks for all the compliments everyone  Im excited as hell and feel like a little kid looking at all my stuff like 10x a day

Ok to answer some of the questions…

No water injection. Not necessary. The ICs in 03-04s are actually very efficient, its the IC reservoir and Heat exchanger that need added capacity to keep IC fluid temps and ultimately AIT temps down cooler. Also, I just dont trust meth on my car, ive read too many horror stories of meth kits takin a dump, clogging, etc to want one on my car. Besides, why add more complexity to keeping temps down when i can essentially keep the stock setup, which is pretty much worry free, and just make it alot more efficient. Atleast thats my logic, my attitude with this car is i wanna get this BS put on there, clsoe the hood, and forget about it and drive and enjoy it

HRK,

Subs will be both bolted/welded in. No live axle. Me and Brian were actually talking about this the other day. I really could have gone alot further with the modding, but then the car would get away from being what i love. I LOVE the 6 spd and IRS, theyre both staying put. If I started getting crazy with even more boost and a bigger shot then i would have to go the auto/9 inch route. Dont want to do that. I dont care about competing to be the fastest car or any of that BS with this car. Just wanna have fun and have it be quick and reliable. And let the looks speak for itself.

93dx,

Cage? Ewww this is my street cruiser dawg, no cage here  Saleen lightbar is how i roll. Yeah i wont last at the track for long :ohnoes: Plan is to go to lancaster, hopefully sneak maybe a few runs to get the launch down before i get booted there, then off to NYI to make my run before i get pimp slapped outta there lol Street car 4 LyFe!!

Jack,

I see you got your internet horsepower calculator in full effect  700 at the wheels? Come on man this isnt a supra. Dont tell me you still think that cobra chodster was tellin me about is making 600 on 12 psi. Like i said, realistically the car will be around the 600 range on blower, 650-660 on joos. Thats real world, everyday numbers on a safe tune with safe timing on both the blower and NOS tunes. Thanks for the compliments though, i appreciate it. Im fired up about it, should be alot of fun.

Ak,

Turob the Scion and let me pimp that for a day around town and you can drive again

Jay,

Sure thing man we’ll cruz next summer ill take ya for a spin in it. I miss riding ina nice 5.0 actually so im really lookin forward to goin for a spin in yours  Miss my 87 dude! :frowning: Oh as far as the halfshafts. Well thats a hit and miss issue. The stock halfshafts are actually pretty strong. Theres cars going 10s on the stockers with no issues. On the flip side there have been bone stock catback cars that have ripped up the stockers as well. What it comes down to is wheel hop. No wheel hop = no breakage.

My DRs go a long way in helping that. If they do break though then i guess its 1600 for level 5 DSSs. IRS brace will hopefully keep the rear gearset from exploding out of the car  And actually 60 foots should be good if i relearn to drive again. If i cut solid 1.7s in this heavy ass pos with 460rwhp, they should come down decent with about 200 more to the wheels assuming i launch good. :gotme:

Jeeves,

Stock internals yeah. Main concerns are 7/8 cyl having poor cyl head coolant flow design but the LDC mod is designed to help with that. The other concern is an extremely tight piston/wall clearance. Alot of cars that have popped did so because of too much heat and expansion in the pistons the locked up under havy load. But thats why the car is going to maryland to get dialed in, its being done by IMO one of the very best in the country with 03-04 and SCT tuning. Other then that the bottom end is extremely strong. Several turbo 750rwhp - 900+ rwhp cars running aruond with no issues.

But then again if it does blow, ill just have oroc hook me up with 20 over CPs and up the boost and the shot  (nahh i wont, just talkin outta my ass :D)

Studderin,

Yeah thats BLWN03’s icebox. Theres a vendor that picked it up on one of the svt boards now and sells that one and a variation where you have to relocate you battery to the back. Im gonna be running both the PFab and his icebox, IMO you can never have enough cooling capacity when it comes to your intercooler system! As for why i went KB? Better bearings, stronger case, LOUD as hell compared to the wimpy whipple  But whipple makes a great product also. Powers numbers are about = with either blower.

Heat exchanger is Lightning Force Performance. Went with that over others because of no cutting/drilling required. Gotta maintain the stock appearance somewhat. The IC res is the big factor in keeping temps down anyways. The stock HE is actually decent, I just got this one for added insurance.

Phew that was alot of work.

I found the problem… you listened to Choda.

That 03 has seen 700+ at the wheels with no knock. KB, Bassani, cold plugs.
:gotme: I don’t know where you got 12psi from… double it and then you’ll see that power./
