The next trillion dollar bailout

dude, you’re stressing yourself out over something you have no control over. Relax. If I was like this every time Bush did something I thought was dumb I’d have had a heart attack before i hit 20. If you’re that worked up, run for congress or something. Look at the bright side, either we’ll get a better economy or you can say I told you so in a few years. Either way you win. Unless it tanks and we use the Republican strategy and wait until the economy is booming, then say it was all from the stimulus, it just took that long to come into effect

So… If there is something wrong with the economy we should do something to fix it but, if there is something wrong with government we should ignore it and be good sheeple? Baaahahhh.

If you think there’s something wrong with government, you should put yourself in a position to do something about it. Whining about it on nyspeed helps nothing.

^Oh yes it does, it saves on therapy bills.

United States Government and Society in general = :suicide:

I can’t wait to rape this system for the next 30 years and retire to my little woods chalet.

:sigh: We are not getting $2.4 billion dollars from the government. How much do you want for your swamp land?

I didn’t mean to say Praxair would be getting a check for $2.4 billion via Fed Ex.

The price on the swampland depends on whether you think there is no political connection between Praxair and the polititian who earmarked the money or not.

I’ll give you $17 for the swap land, but also tail the politician and just when he gets handed his envelope full of money I’ll sack him for the people.

Joe already mentioned that these things will create or save jobs, you haven’t been able to prove otherwise.

As far as the rest, it is obvious that you didn’t look into most of these things, you just simply read the ‘Headlines’ and made a judgment call. Typical nearsightedness.

And I will offer $17.50 for the swamp land.

Well if you are going to keep making personal attacks on me I will say this, if that is how you would build a STIMULUS PACKAGE then you obviously have ZERO business experience and have never had to explore the cost effectiveness of ANYTHING. Of course the people that did build that bill have very little or no experience either. Stick to history and teaching little kids and leave this stuff for the grown ups.

What kind of jobs? Are they producing anything???
Great, more overpaid workers producing no products to sell in what is already a consumer nation. Fundamentals are jacked up in this country…who wants to debate that fact?

^Truth. If you are not producing/manufacturing products you are not adding to the economy you are only trading assets.

I mean, we do need some service based workers. But we can’t just create a job for every American sitting at the airport or border. If citizens were more in tune and less brainwashed we could ALL be the department of homeland security in our day to day lives…for free. The payback is overall security and sense of well being.

They need to let shit fall and correct itself which will in turn bring wages down to a reasonable level. Then we can earn some of the production work back that is currently outsourced. I’m no economist and even those that are the “pros” know less than enough. But IMO the economy is something that shouldn’t be tampered with other than the occasional minor tweaks. Shit businesses close, new ones buy the assets cheap and fair valuation can occur. Free market FTW!

I still say we should have used a LOT of that money to improve infrastructure. Kills 2 birds with 1 stone. Improves the roads, railways systems, bridges etc, and creates THOUSANDS of jobs. But what do I know…I’m just a hick. :gotme:

If you were really a hick you’d not worry about roads. You’d have a gravel driveway and ride a horse.

Obama Zombies, that is my new name for the people that will support even this BS which is unprecedented waste.

If you support this plan I know at least two things about you 1) You don’t care about the next 12-18 months or the people who are out of work. 2) You don’t care about the future beyond a few short years. So I guess all you care about is 18-36 months. I find that strange.

well I do have a gravel driveway and I ride horses, though I don’t own any lol.

We’re probably a lot closer in agreement than it looks like on here. I’m sure we have pushed for political support of carbon sequestration technology development. How far that extends to this bill specifically I have no idea, but Praxair’s a $10 billion dollar company and big companies use political leverage.

Sounds like we’re doing the right thing if you subscribe to Keynsian views.
