I was done arguing with the Uber Hater. Honestly I should not even repond to you guys, as I have mentioned in other threads, I find the only one educated enough to back up their conservative opinion on this board is JayS.
You two are just rank amateurs with nothing original to add. Your ideological stereotypes show nothing more than a simplistic view of the world.
Very few people fall into the ‘liberal’ and ‘conservative’ definitions that you believe in, but to realize that would disturb the simplicity that you guys live by and we all know you won’t do that.
^I’m sorry here is another one I can’t figure out, maybe your condescending, elitist, complex, brain can rationalize this spending: Jay’s boy Sean Hannity was just talking about bailout money going to build a disc golf course, it seems $886,000.00 is going to be spent on creating a wopping 4 jobs(this must be the “one mans pork is another mans job.” you were talking about). I hope it is free so all of the former factory workers can play in between there STD education classes. If I was smrt like Jay I would post a link but I are dumb. This type of spending is no excuse for anger or frustration so it must just be my simple mind laboring again. Please grace me with your higher intelligence oh great one.
See, you generalize. I’m against the use of this bill going to STD education classes. While I think it wouldn’t be a bad thing to pass, there are other things we need to spend the money on. I haven’t seen the thing on the golf course but if what you say is true then it probably doesn’t need to be in there either.
But what about the school construction part? Why did that need to be cut? Building schools means construction jobs on top of helping city and rural schools that are too small or just aren’t designed for todays technological age. But it was cut, why?
I love the elitist argument that you have. I responded to a post of yours with information concerning issues facing the country in the 1930’s and you responded to that with :blah::blah::blah: you didn’t even attempt to prove me wrong which leads me to believe you don’t really know anything about the topic, just repeating the talking points of people like Glen Beck or Hannity.
I mean come on, I can attack your viewpoints that I disagree with, you just attack ‘liberalism’ as a whole. You paint half of the nation with such a large brush its just stupid.
No one falls in your interpretation of conservatism and liberalism perfectly.
Thats the point I was trying to make, thats the point that you seem to not understand.
Edit: I’m not going to repeat myself but if you could answer the school thing that would be great.
The school thing.
My guess is that typically these projects can take 5 to7 years because of what is involved, ie permits, enviornmental studies, engineering, bids, etc.
Another thing may be that schools don’t generate profit once built, in fact they have just the opposite, they have more costs every year they exist.
China buys land and builds buildings for companies because they know it will be a money maker. We seem to have a hard time helping our own companies unless they are banks.
If I ran the big three I would put in for automation money to save at least what is left and not add any legacy costs. The legacy cost are like the anchor of the ship.
woah i think teh ambien iskickig in finally! Gotta go/
We need jobs right now and we need to save the jobs that are left.
The longer people are out of work the more it costs every company.
Yeah, I was awake last night thinking about everything because that is one of the fun parts of being a business owner. Thank God for Ambien though.
Not that anyone on here seems to care but this is why they are going to print another $835 billion worth of debt…
Here’s what your taxes will be paying for if this bill passes:
There’s billions for the radical environmentalists’ agenda:
$20 million “for the removal of small- to medium-sized fish passage barriers”
$70 million to “Support Supercomputing Activities” for climate research
$10 million for biking and walking trails
$200 million for plug-in car stations
$400 million for NASA to conduct research on climate change
$600 million for diesel emission reduction
$650 million for “alternative energy technologies, energy efficiency enhancements and deferred maintenance at Federal facilities”
$1.5 billion to build “green schools”
$2.4 billion for “carbon capture demonstration projects”- WHATEVER THAT MEANS!
There’s billions for federal bureaucrats:
$600 million to buy new cars for government workers- THIS IS ON TOP OF THE $3 BILLION PER YEAR THAT THE GOVERNMENT ALREADY SPENDS ON ITS FLEET OF VEHICLES.
$150 billion to more than double the budget of the U. S. Department of Education- THIS MEANS MORE FEDERAL CONTROL OF OUR CHILDREN AND OUR LOCAL SCHOOL DISTRICTS
$34 million to remodel the Department of Commerce HQ
$50 million for the National Endowment of the Arts- REMEMBER HOW WE THE TAXPAYERS HAVE PAID FOR A PAINTING OF CHRIST IN A VAT OF URINE, AND FOR SEXUAL ORGANS PAINTED TO LOOK LIKE HUMAN FACES?
$54 million for federal programs that our government has criticized as “ineffective” or that cannot pass basic financial audits-PAYING TO CONTINUE PROGRAMS THAT DON’T WORK!
$462 million for equipment, construction, and renovation of facilities at the Center for Disease Control
$1 billion for follow-up to the 2010 Census
$1 billion for AMTRAK
There’s billions in political payoffs:
$246 million for Hollywood – MOVIE MOGULS RAISED MILLIONS FOR THE OBAMA PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN
$83 billion for tax credits for people who don’t pay taxes
$4.19 billion to ACORN, THE OBAMA SUPPORT GROUP THAT IS ALREADY UNDER INVESTIGATION FOR VOTER FRAUD
And there’s billions more in your tax money going out the door to finance lobbying of Congress by the banking industry, to pay outrageous bonuses for industry CEO’s, and to allow companies to buy up their competitors, all in the name of “stimulus”!
I guess Obama figured if he called it a Democrat’s wet dream it wouldn’t have passed so he called it a stimulus package. It is funny that he accused Bush of using fear to get support but now he is using words like “catastrophe” to scare people into support. Whatever works I suppose.lol
I love it when you know I am right so you come up with some lame response like that rather than defending this garbage your party put out or admiting what rubbish this is.
I am not saying zero jobs would be created but, do you seriously support this as a jobs/stimulus package? I mean you pointed jobs could be created but come on, I could say, “Give my daughter $3 billion and she will open a lemonade stand and hire one person.” That $3 billion just created 2 jobs. Great, it must be a stimulus plan.
$886000 for 4 jobs at a disc golf course? Seriously you think does more good than harm the economy?
$2.4 billion for “carbon capture demonstration projects”- WHATEVER THAT MEANS!
That should actually ensure new jobs right here in WNY.
Praxair to Seek DOE Funding for Oxy-Coal Project
DANBURY, Conn., August 21, 2008 – In response to a Funding Opportunity recently issued by the U.S. Department of Energy’s Clean Coal Power Initiative, Praxair, Inc. (NYSE:PX) will submit a proposal, working with the Jamestown Oxy-Coal Alliance and others, to demonstrate technology designed to capture carbon dioxide emissions from both new and existing coal-fired electricity-generating plants. If successful, the demonstration project would be the first of its kind in the United States, integrating several tested technologies for the first time.
$2.4 billion? Great if it creates about 100,000 jobs. Will it create that many?
It will probably do more harm in reality when utility costs go through the roof if companies are forced to use this system.
Obama was bragging that there were no earmarks, if you don’t think that $2.4 billion is intended to be a direct injection to Praxair, I have some swampland in Florida to sell to you.
