The next trillion dollar bailout

^Fry: You may have read that on ubrf. (I am clinging to my 30s at this point)

What about inflation?

I was never on UBRF. None of my business anyway though.

I don’t remember inflation from my macro class, but logically the dollar becomes diluted and worth less. Whatever, we can trade in goats’ nuts for all I care as long as the real economy stops shrinking.

EDIT: Ha, yeah. Running a business tends to make you older than that whole “age” measurement anyway. :stuck_out_tongue:

Have you ever actually seen McCain take on the fly questions? It’s called answering a question. When you don’t know what it’ll be, you need to THINK about an answer

What about the $35 trillion(that is the latest number I heard) DC commited to medicare?
The point is we can’t keep spending our way out when we have already buried ourselves in spending.

WHEN DOES IT STOP? $50 TRILLION? $100 TRILLION?

We’ve already seen that tax cuts don’t work for this problem, and doing nothing doesn’t work. There’s only one thing left to try.

Level the playing field? Great. Problem solved.

I wonder if we’d be having the same argument over the New Deal if NYspeed was around in the 30’s?

^That is really the start of the current problem, trampling the Constitution. lol

Here you faggots

Yeah…do nothing, that’s a great fucking idea.

Jay said I said do nothing and I corrected him.

I believe my idea would save about $800 billion and work TODAY.
I could probably triple my workforce in a matter of weeks.

If you did any formal research of the era you would know that is not true given the circumstances and the real domestic threats facing the country prior to our involvement to WWII.

On an even sadder note can someone please explain why the Republicans pushed through a version of the Reinvestment and Recovery Act that took away new school construction?

^You believe what you want if makes you feel better.

I understand that you have problems with the programs today on how they are managed but they were created 60 years ago under circumstances that I hope are never repeated and therefor you can blame the current government for its mishaps but really not FDR.

You see what you fail to understand is what America was like back during the Great Depression. With many sectors seeing 25%+ unemployment there was a mass exodus of people leaving the country for…wait for it…the USSR. Since under a socialist government there should technically be no unemployment (which is not always the case) it became an extremely attractive idea to those lining up for food in soup kitchens.

There was a legitimate fear of a socialist uprising similar to what happened in Russia only 15 years prior. In fact our country seemed ripe for one. When Hoover was seen as a puppet of Big Business many people lost faith in the government.

And whether you like it or not FDR with his weekly fireside chats, New Deal programs, and weekly newsreels of people working under his programs encouraged people that a capitalist democratic society can work and put faith back in government.

So unless you like total socialism, you might want to thank FDR instead of blaming him for our CURRENT troubles. The alternative could have been far worse.

He could have paid people to build boats and then whom ever thought Russia was so great could have taken a one way trip one those boats. I believe that might have been more effective in the long run. Maybe we wouldn’t have conditioned several generations to put their hand out. There are many generations of families that HAVE NEVER WORKED. Can I thank him for that obligation too?

You know that may be a great idea, other states used to bus people to NY, if you want socialism we can ship you to a socialist country of your choice. I am quite certain it would be a better longterm solution. Why do you people push your agenda in this country when you could get what you want somewhere else? I figure it must be like anything else, you want the government to pay for it.

If thats your response then I’m done here. No where in that drivel did you even try to counter what I said.

And as far as generations of families not working, the only families I see with generations not working come from the very rich not the very poor.

But you believe what you want if it makes you happy, although I think you are a very angry person that uses ideological stereotypes to further your prejudices.

:word: The hell with a representative democracy! This is not our government to change as we see fit! If you want a government of the people, by the people, and for the people go to America!

Oh, crap.

:uhh:

LOL
I am not saying that at all. I just don’t get it. The USA is the “most free” and industrialized nation why change it? Are people too lazy to move to a country that has everything they want? The answer is more likely, they want to have their cake and eat it too. I don’t know, like I said I just don’t get it. Well luckily for me we at least have freedom of speech (for now anyway). I guess when the last bastion of freedom crumbles I will just get in the government breadline with the rest of you. See you soon.

Yep, you sure don’t.

I thought you were leaving. Liar.

He is a liberal. he will never do what he says :stuck_out_tongue:
