Couldn’t you call anything the government spends money on an “earmark”? Or is there a formal definition I’m ignorant to?
This gets better everyday. lmao.
Now people want Geitners head? The only guy Obama could hire? LOL
People want someone to blame but honestly this shit is no ones fault but AIG’s. Now if we let AIG get away with this BS then I will be one of those people calling for Geitners head, but until then, I will hold my judgement.
How can they legally stop AIG though? It would be bad if our govt said the employee contracts don’t mean anything(see slippery slope).
Earmarks are things that congressman and senators add to the budget or spending bills for things that would help their local districts such as an anti-gang program in Detroit or a drinking water commission in Missouri.
Some are good, some are bad, most look like a waste of money if your not getting effected by them.
And yet that has been done time and time again, take a look at what happned to the air traffic controllers and airline pilots during th 70’s and 80’s.
The gov’t owns 80% of AIG now which means they should have a say on this. No contract is iron clad, and I don’t want the gov’t just simply going around and breaking them but at the same time if we are going to expect the blue collar workers to redo their contract then the same should be said for white collar workers.
word is that china and Russia are discussing a new reserve currency after the Feds move to buy treasuries. This needs to be fixed NOW.
Lovin it, last person turn the lights out.
=)
HAHA Fair enough.
Our dollar is going to be worth shit in 4 years with all this money they’re throwing around. I’m in awe of how much of our “stimulus/bail-out” money is going over seas.
Just checking in for a :tinfoilhat:
Carry on.
Love him or hate him. Olberman is right on the money on this one.
^First 3 minutes were OK. Why does he talk like a retard with broken ribs that is about to burp? Does he think it makes him sound smrter?
Edit: So with the new “bonus tax” is the IRS going to Europe to collect the taxes?:bloated:
No it def doesn’t, I normally try to get past it.
I will throw this in this thread…
West Valley Project (nuke) is getting another $74 million on top of the $80 million and $57 million they already got last year. It will create 200 new jobs. So is everybody getting paid a million dollars each? Even if you just take the $74 million it figures out to $370,000 per job! WTF? Great way to “create” jobs. I know people that “work” there, they admit to doing NOTHING. No wonder they call it Waste Valley.
This is just one tiny slice of the stimulus pie.
Yes. Labor is their only cost. Nuclear power requires no technology whatsoever. Also these jobs are 1 year temporary positions since they only have their million dollars funded for the first year.
As long as West Valley never issues a single PO for anything, your logic is spot on.
I know not every penny goes toward salaries but, wake up people.
