I just can’t help but think how much better this money could be spent.
It is frustrating when you are struggling and the government is just throwing around huge piles of (my)money for their own pet projects…
Thanks for the wake up. I had never really thought about it before, but seeing how much effort goes into building a puny little oxygen plant I can’t even imagine how many decent white collar and high-skill blue collar jobs are funded by building a nuclear power plant. Definitely money well spent! :tup:

Being near Waste Valley I have to hear about it more than most.
They are now saying it could take a century. What is the point if it takes that long? All of the spent nukes have already been vitrified(ap).
Too be honest a Nuke plant is the last place I want to see underfunded.

That’s just it, it is not a nuke plant. It was a storage facility that eventually processed the waste by encasing it in glass(basically).
Forget about my bitching and just think about the fact that they are saying it could take a century to “clean up”. The waste was low level to begin with and that has been taken care of already. 100 years? FOR WHAT? It wouldn’t take 100 years to dig a hole 1000 feet deep. It would be cheaper to buy every house within 10 miles of there and put up a fence.lol
