Dunno WTF cantilever means really, but here’s a couple links found via quick google search:

http://www.tjgeneralstore.com/win-bbl.htm
I’ve seen both of those sites already. This is cantilever:
The scope rail is welded to the barrel.
Ahhhhh. Well if you mount the scope to the receiver, as long as you mount in the same place each time you switch barrels it should stay zero’d.
IDK I wouldn’t trust it to be accurate enough, and at ~$3 a shell I rather not have to test fire it every yeah to double check.
Shooting slugs?
On my AR, when I take off my ACOG and go to the iron sights and then put the ACOG back on it’s always dead nuts accurate again.
Yeah sabot slugs
You should have’t to remove the scope from the barrel when changing. If you’re that concerned about that kind of accuracy you should have a scope for every barrel you use, setup for the type of round it’s shooting(right down to the type of powder and bullet grain), mounted and sighted in. Especially for a sabot round.
THAT is going to make more of a difference in accuracy than removing/installing scopes on picatinny rails during a barrel change. I’ve got a 22-250 Rem vamint rifle here that will shoot flies off a paper at 100yds, and when we remove/install the scope from it there’s no need to boresight/sight in at all in doing so.
??? Well I dont want a scope when I have a bird barrel on.
so buy a used 870 or 535. Probably close to the price of the barrel you hypathetically want new and then you have a whole second firearm.
Then what are you concerned with accuracy wise? The sights/bridge should be mounted on the barrel regardless and changing the barrel out should not affect the guns sights/accuracy if the barrel is designed for that gun. My dad has a few barrels for his weatherby break actions and those never change when switching barrels for different chokes.
I swear it seems I need to start up a small section of my business here for gunsmithing for all you kids. JVG would keep it in business as is with all the stuff he buys and screwups he makes :lol
The scope isnt mounted on the barrel, its mounted on the receiver. If I can find a cantilever barrel than the scope would be mounted on the barrel and I wouldn’t have to mess with anything, just swap barrels.
I could by another gun, but if I can get a barrel for say $200 or so I’d be fine with that. I have a nice Stevens double barrel shotgun for trap and small game already.
This is my gun,Scope mounts here/ The receiver is drilled/tapped for a standard rail.
This is the 12ga version with the cantilever barrel:
ninety1two40 your right on with what you need. you wont need to resight the scope on a cantileverset up each time you switch the barrel(s).
Steve my bad, i completely misunderstood your posts. I thought you already had the canti setup and was just looking for another barrel
C’mon man, you know I ain’t no dummy
:rofl
Maybe you can make a cantilever mount for my barrel??
that is not completely accurate u asshole
bullshit! :crackup you’ve bought and built more guns in the past 12 months than most will even own in two lifetimes.
yup. Done it before to a few shotguns.
You can never have to many. And as for screw ups in my defense those fucking buffer springs all look that same and it was misslabeled in the package. I double checked and it said carbine on the wolff label. :dunno
