Gun Questions

So I was at T&V today and had a strong urge to buy a gun. Why? I don’t know. I’ve always wanted one. I’ve shot a few before and had a great time doing so.

The specific gun I liked was a DPMS AR15 .223. Their original pricing was $1299.99 for it. I don’t know if this is a good price or not. Someone please help. I don’t know shit pretty much when it comes to guns. I’d like some sort of assault rifle… I don’t know shit about cleaning them or taking care of them. I just enjoy shooting them a lot.

Is there a better gun available for around the same price? I have no idea, someone help lol.

Yes there is a better one, the AR-50. Look into it…its god-like. Totally out of the price range you are looking for but one of the sickest guns ive seen/want.

FAIL. :gtfo

Haha, well youre baller now, so I figured you may be interested in taking out huge objects from 2 miles away lol

DPMS is ok,

Armalite/Bushmaster are my reccomendations on an assault rifle.

That’s about the going rate for a DPMS AR15. A friend of mine just picked one up not long ago for $1,000.

dont go to T&V or B&J’s they are both a rip off with their prices…neudecker’s in troy is going to give you the best price and best service. ths guy that i work with, ed, has gotten a lot from them and is a personal friend of the owner and you’ll def find better deals there

B&J’s is hit or miss. I haven’t been to this place in Troy so I can’t argue that. Try looking online too Cossey or even the Want Ad and just have someone go with you that knows guns well.

I’d stick with T&V but thats just me. Anyways, my buddy has a Bushmaster AR and I have a DPMS. All I can tell you is that his has jammed at least once every time we’ve went shooting and mine has never jammed. He bought his new, I bought mine used from god knows how many people. I absolutely LOVE my DPMS. Is the one you are looking at pre-ban? I have serial numbers here if you need to double check. Also you NEED to make sure it’s chambered for 5.56 as well as .223. I know most of them are, just look on the barrell it should say 5.56. If it says .223 don’t buy it. You want one that’s chambered for 5.56 because even though it’s almost identical it’s a little bigger. you can shoot .223 in a 5.56 but not 5.56 in a .223. If you need anythign else let me know. DJ knows his shit on here too.

You cant go wrong with any of them as long as you take care of them really. Prices all over are going to be high, alot higher than they were last year. Even if you build one yourself right now your going to wait a couple months to get the parts and its still going to cost you more now then it would have cost last year to buy a complete rifle. I have a bushmaster standard 20, a m1s 20inch kit built on a dpms reciever and a ffe cmmg m4 built on a spikes tactical lower. The rifles i built have not failed me and can put a bullet wherever and whenever i want. I can teach ya how to field strip them if ya want.

hell yea, these are probably the easiest, most fun rifles to take apart in the world. i thoroughly enjoy gun cleaning day. :open_mouth:

We used to have a Bushmaster AR 15… kept jamming up on us EVERY time… we sold it. I have a .22 it’s good enough and it breaks things lol

fiancee has a short barrel shot gun… 18 gauge i believe. The kick back on that thing is insane… i like holding it but refuse to shoot it lol I know girl answer…

Just don’t go with Bushmaster AR’s. Obviously they all jam…

The last time our jammed it would have cost us 300 to fix… we said eff it and bought me a .22.

I want my pistol permit now!! lol

Where do you guys go shooting around here? We usually go to Pauls friends house that owns like 125 acres… but he lives out there in Nassau which is way too much of an effing drive…

I know for sure it’s a .223. I didn’t look at the barrel.
I know the guy who owns T&V, and he said he could give me a little bit of a hookup on that and some ammo. DJ, if I buy it, I’m gonna need you to show me a ton of stuff ASAP lol. When we went shooting that one time was about the only experience I have with them

gun cleaning is an all day project for me, i love it. I have a ciener .22 kit for the ar-15’s its a diff. BCG and mag that allows you to shoot .22 out of the ar-15, it makes for a badass .22, great for saving money. I usually go up to the clifton park range, but i have other places to shoot as well. Probably going to end up there saturday for a lil bit.

Not all bushmasters are horrible, they are really a great rifle. When i bought mine it would only cycle one round and then lock the bolt carrier back, it was just really dirty.

sweet man, get the hook up on it and we can go shooting saturday. The dpms i just sold was bought from special arms and munitions for 900 last year, it was the dpms 16inch flattop.

If you have proper stance & hold on that shotgun it won’t be too bad for you to shoot, and if done properly it shouldn’t hurt you.

Also I usually shoot at Lacville’s house down the road from me. I have yet to go out to where DJ and them shoot.

Yea finding .223 isn’t a problem. Just check the barrell for the 5.56mm marking and you’re good. Pat owns that place right? Hes cool as hell.

Yea, he’s a good guy. My mom works for his uncle, Frank.

I’m thinking I might have to have a shooting party sometime in March  Like an Offical “Shoot518” event.

yeaa, shooting at your place is a blast, literaly.

i like my 22!!! lol i play with the shot gun all the time… just never had the nerve to shoot it… lol scared of the recoil! lol You’ll have to show me the right way!

Let me know about this shooting party! I’ll def be there!
