Symantec is a joke too, cant tell you how many people i know who have switched their systems at their offices over to something else over the past 2 years

Detection rate on symantec is horrible and just like norton its a pig, not as big of a pig but its still a pig…

We swapped everything over to Eset 6 months ago and have nearly wiped out an virus issues we had before with symantec

I agree slightly though. Symantec Corporate Edition (v10 or older) was a POS. We still use it here, and deal with viruses all the time. At home, I use Endpoint Protection and have not had a single issue and I download a lot more ‘content’ (for lack of a better term) than I do at work.

I have yet to have any issues.

But yeah, there is a LOT of good AV’s. Kapersky and Avast and AVG are the ones I’ve heard the most about…but if AVG doesn’t work for you, then try one of the other ones.

Bump for this review:

Recently, Ilya helped me with the removal of some unnecessary USB key software on my HP laptop.

We agreed on a per hour rate for the work, and he outlined in detail everything he was going to do with the computer before I turned it over to him. I was comfortable that he knew what he was doing and had a solid plan.

He was responsive and punctual in meeting up to get the computer and he also completed the job before I needed the computer back and within his original estimate for how long it would take him.

After things were done, he checked back with me to make sure things were working well and took time to send additional information on what might be done to further improve the laptop’s performance even after the resource hogging stuff was removed.

I would recommend him to anyone and will probably end up going to him again for PC related stuff in the future.

I have an HP laptop that the one hinge broke on, it worked fine for a while with the hinge broken and then all the sudden it stoped working all together, wont turn on at all or any lights, i sent it back to HP and they told me 200 to fix the hinge and THEN they would figure out what else is wrong with it and charge me more.

Well im guessing with the hinge broke the ribbion cable for the monitor got stretched and probably broke a contact
