bleh. everytime you guys race, everyone see different things in the videos, and or makes different excuses. I got an idea. Go to LVD, run your car, and post your time. Lowests time = faster car. That should settle things. I’ve never seen 2 AWD cars want to do roll races more in my life.
i believe i said i wanted a dig race but the “track” so to speak was a no fly zone friday night. he wouldnt run me except on the highway and i was having trouble shifting my car as i had 2 pins removed from my wrist earlier in the day and was drugged up on hydrocodone. ON TOP OF THE FACT that my cast was removed and in only a splint so my wrist strength was weakened even more. my check engine light had been out for 2 days straight and as we started the car to go for the run, it popped back on… car was 100% not running right (bank one camshaft position sensor over advance on cam timing)… thus it retards cam timing and loses TONS of power… especially top end. this also affects AVCS… subarus version of vtec so to speak as it advances or retards intake cam timing at certain rpm bands and aids in turbo spool. so add all this in with a stock exhaust and slipping clutch, the evo pulled away from me… (with john driving due to my wrist situation). the EVO is a very fast car and ended all the races ahead of the sti except the 3rd run where he prematurely cuts off the video :angry2.
this sounds like im making excuses but it is facts of the case. my car needs a clutch and people following can attest they smelled clutch after the runs.
the car will have a 3" catback, an intake, and a 50/50 BOV on it before next weekend. i will NOT be racing the car until i have the $ for a new clutch. you all seem quick to judge and assume im going to go right out and have one installed ASAP… the clutch and install on this is going to be upwards of $1K … unlike some of you (who will remain nameless…cough cough EVO cough cough) mommy and daddy dont pay for any of my shit. i got prolly close to $11k under the hood of MY OWN FUCKING MONEY…i dont care if the evo is faster or not… i can hold my head high and say that i paid for everything under the hood rather than having it handed to me like some spoiled bitch ass rich boy.

i cant talk cause im kinda in the same boat as him…besides the fact I pay for EVERYTHING my self…bought a full blown race quad (parents lended me half the money i didnt have, I paid them back), bought my car myself and I will be buying every single mod myself that goes into the car…same went for my last car…
My parents own a landscaping comany…Its only me and my dad working for it, working full time. We do very big jobs…I have been working with him since i was 14…when he doesnt want to work anymore, the business is mine…however, im 21 now and i have helped him build that business for the last 7 years.
I’d love to take over my fathers business, unfortunately there isn’t enough to support us both and i’m going to be supporting myself. And Joey, I’m basically saying that i’m in college and am further not involving myself with this for 4 years…not that I’m going to be more successful then anyone? Hey that sounds fair. Get what you need to get done, done and we’ll see whats good then. It’s going to be a good summer and everyone will have plenty of time to make their tweaks. You’re car has incredible amounts of potential and I, for one, know that. I want to see you get the most you can out of it before the season ends.
maybe I’m missing something, but why are you getting mods for your car (intake, exhaust, and bov) when you obviously NEED to replace a wear item, the clutch? Everything you listed isn’t needed for your car to run, whereas a clutch is. I’m sure your mods listed are going to cost you over 1k, so why not skip them for now and replace your clutch first? :confused…wtf is the point of adding performance mods if your existing setup can’t handle what you currently have?
whatever happened to, race from a green light, whoever crosses the line first has a faster/quicker car.
