The "Oil Prices" thread.

You get the point, right?

Of course, in 1964 making $6000/year made you “middle class”, so it’s all relative.

Yeah inflation ramped up when we ditched it. It looks like the dollar stabilized too though.

:nerd:

Oil $43.42 +4.39

with all the production cuts will that cause a huge summer spike when more oil is actually needed?

Will we see a price kind of stabilize somewhere?

of course it will. Probably $5 or $6 a gallon maybe even $7.

Crude reclaims $50-a-barrel mark

$50.03

Never for long. Too much political instability on the production side, and economic instability + long run exponential growth on the consumption side.

Plus I just made that up because I really don’t know, nor does anyone for sure.

Oil $45.08 -3.50

In case you haven’t figured it out, slumping international economy > Israel beating the piss out of Gaza and doing nothing to disrupt the oil flowing from the middle east.

The jump oil took was complete speculative bullshit because nothing in the Israeli/Hamas conflict has effected the supply of oil.

Most gas stations pricing stated the same, but I saw one that jumped .12 in a day.

well aware of it bro.

Oil $43.41 -5.16

If it hits 39 again, I’m buying some oil futures to wait for the next “speculation” $10 increase!

Even with $1000… you can buy 25 shares, and make $250 every 10 point increment it goes up.

Or, it could plummet down to $5 and stay there forever? Is that possible?

look at the symbol DXO. It’s an exchange traded fund that basically does 2x whatever crude oil does that day, on a percentage basis.

Oil prices fell in one of the biggest single-day declines in history Wednesday, after a woeful supply report gave previously bullish investors little reason to believe oil would sustain a rally anytime soon.Oil tumbles 12% on still-growing supply
Government report shows huge buildup in crude supplies, an additional sign that demand is falling.

U.S. crude for February delivery fell $5.95, or 12.3%, to settle at $42.63 a barrel, a day after soaring past $50 in intraday trading.

Oil
$40.68 -1.95

We need to build about 10 more SPR’s and top those babies off while the price is low.

seeing that 52wk high compared to what it is now is a heck of a margin.
52-Wk High:

07/11$147.55

52-Wk Low:

12/19$32.40

I’ve been keeping my tank ful, trying to make up for the money I lost buying 4$ gas
