The other elections.

Stefan Masfjkoasdfjkgslgasdlasju really has no business as a comptroller. It’s the county’s top auditing and accounting job…he was a news reporter and a spin doctor for Chris Collins. I’ve voted for Republicans for finance posts before when they were qualified but he just isn’t.

Yeah that guy’s resume screams communication degree from Oswego.

If I do decide to get into politics I’ll probably try to start with a comptroller job because of my background. With my name, at least I’ll win the teen vote

+1 from me for Grisanti. A republican who works well with the governer and can tell the rest of his party to fuck off about a civil rights issue like gay marriage is OK in my book.

+1 to John Ceretto. Restaino lost me at state run casino gambling. Casinos do nothing but suck money out of local economies, and the government should not be in the gambling business in the first place. The rest of his positions kind of suck too.

So that settles it for me.

Pres - Johnson - Libertarian
Senate - Chris Edes - Libertarian
House - Higgins - Democrat
State Senate - Grisanti - Republican
State Assembly - Ceretto - Republican
Comptroller - Shenk - Democrat
DA - Only dude running
Family Court Judge - Only Dude running

Yep, I are politically confuzzled.

Looks like the only one I might not get (aside from the Libertarians that I knew wouldn’t win) is comptroller, and that’s still a toss up. Leave it to western new yorkers to elect a guy with no qualifications to an accounting position.

I have had many, many thoughts since last night but one that keeps coming back is, we may not have another Republican President in the next 50 years or so.
Unless of course our candidate is an abortion doctor named Hector Gonzalas.

Edit: Oops wrong thread.

I met and talked wth Shenk at the Dem HQ last night. Seems like a stand up guy. Had no better answers than I did for how people vote for a news reporter to be the county’s chief accountant/auditor.

Most people don’t know what a comptroller does, much less who the candidates are, so they pencil in the bubble next to the name they recognize from being on the news for like 8 years. Local elections probably come down to who can get their name the most familiar.

lol

They should have made them spell the candidate’s name.

Pretty dissapointed that Hochul lost. Just what we need in the house, another Replublican talking point spewing moron.

I’m getting sick of dipshits quoting 8% unemployment and a 16 trillion deficit as if that means Obama should be castrated, while knowing NOTHING about macroeconomics and how new trade theory works.

If they jammed even 1% less Republicans in that district, 59-41 instead of 60-40, it would have been enough. Not sure how a supposedly nonpartisan redistricting by the courts basically just ended up in a bunch of noncompetitive seats for both parties that make no geographical sense. I am in Higgins’ district now but Hochul’s is north, south, and east of me, and west of me is water and Canada.
