Whats going on,
I joined a couple months back and since then have been creeping through the archives of threads to get up to date. The project car is a 1992 s13, Ive owned it for about 6 months now. I picked it up for $500.00 because of a crapped out clutch. At the time I was living in Quebec and had no garage space (I was working as a welder/machinist up in the James Bay area), my contract recently ended and I was able to come back home and fall back into things here in Toronto.
About 2 weeks before leaving Montreal the car just died, long story short it was particles from the rusted out gas tank that caused the the fuel pump to clog and eventually made the pump short out. With 2 weeks to spare I didnt want to risk dropping in a new pump and having the same issue present itself. So I fabricated and welded my own “fuel cell” and got an MSD inline pump all hooked up. As of now the system works great but having a fuel tank in the rear of your car isint all its cracked up to be.
Hopefully next week at some point I will be able to take it to my shop and remove the old tank and place the new tank in its place. While doing this I figure I might as well begin looking into changing my rear end, I currently have the stock Super Hicas rear end and am looking to swap it out for something that is a little “friendlier”. Any suggestions on the type of rear end I should be looking for?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Paul

Cool stuff though. Not sure how safe it will be either way, best of luck, awesome and unique project.
