The Tuna gets to work - now hires Cowboys Staff for GM

I can just see it: when Parcells was hired last thursday, he was handed an Axe & a Hammer… Today he went to work.

Start the countdown until the Dolphins are playoff teams.

Its not that i like the Fins, but I have alot of respect for Parcells.

DAVIE, Fla. (AP) — Bill Parcells’ shakeup of the Miami Dolphins began Monday with the firing of general manager Randy Mueller.

Assistant director of player personnel Mike Baugh and college scouting coordinator Rick Thompson also departed.

Also at risk of being fired was coach Cam Cameron, who said he would discuss his future with Parcells this week. On Sunday, the Dolphins became only the eighth team to finish 1-15.

Parcells began work Thursday as executive vice president of football operations.

Mueller was the Dolphins’ general manager for three seasons but was in charge of personnel decisions only since coach Nick Saban left a year ago.

Mueller received mixed reviews for his moves in 2007, which included the acquisition of free-agent linebacker Joey Porter and the selection of receiver Ted Ginn Jr. and quarterback John Beck in the draft.
Mueller was general manager of the New Orleans Saints in 2000-01.

wow thats some work there

and there it is, general manager of the New Orleans Aints…peace bitch

Somewhere between 2-14 and 8-8.

lol, suddenly it all clicked when you read that, right?

:violin2:

so, round up.

poor aints got handed their ass yesterday. Not like they were making the play offs anyhow

they looked almost as bad as the cowboys yesterday, but they were more dedicated. Of course, its all they had to paly for.

lets see how the draft goes… they need some talent … they’re still my team though. :frowning:

which one

fins

saints have nothing besides colston and brees… even with bush they need to draft some serious talent to have a chance… .and deuce needs to stop being a pussy (JK)…

but i always cheer for the saints and i felt bad cuz they were trying they just have no defense and not much else besides drew.

i hope he gives cam cameron another shot…when you lose your most talented player to injury for the year and trade your 2nd best to a contender on a roster already devoid of talent, you could have jesus as head coach, with allah and buddha coaching the offense and defense, and you wouldnt win.

we need this to happen to the bills

yea i think cam should get another year, he didn’t exactly have much to work with

5-11, maybe 6-10.

Too much change is going to happen too fast and they’ll spend a good portion of the season just learning how to play together and play what ever new system they implement.

I think coach deserves at least one more year… but for references sakes:

Parcells apparently told Huizenga he has heard stories about Cameron spending some of his time monitoring the team’s website to make sure the players are being asked the right questions by club-employed reporters. Cameron also wanted to make sure the players were giving the right answers.

Parcells told Huizenga he doesn’t want a coach that is worried about blogs or website interviews. He wants a tough-minded, hard-driven football man who is more concerned with football than facade.

Chuck Norris is clearly the Dolphins solution.

The Dolphins have a decent team, it’s just the fact that the majority of the team was injured all year. If they stay healthy they should field a few more wins. I wouldn’t call them playoff worthy next year by any means, but def 8-8 worthy.

bump-date.

Tuna takes some of his ole staff from Jerry Jones.

DAVIE, Fla. (AP) —
Ireland may have input in deciding the fate of Cam Cameron, whose job is in jeopardy after going 1-15 in his first season as an NFL head coach. Cameron met Tuesday with Parcells but remained uncertain whether he would be retained.

While Ireland is a Texas native who played at Baylor, he decided to leave Dallas to become a general manager.

“The promotion, I think, was the key thing. I don’t think he was going to be moved up to general manager here,” Phillips said to laughter.

Team owner Jerry Jones holds that title with the Cowboys.

Of the 53 players on the Cowboys’ roster, 38 were acquired after Ireland was promoted to vice president of college and pro scouting. That includes 12 of the 22 starters.
