they want to buy it back?

ok, i just got a mail from a nissan dealership that i went to saying that they want to buy my 95 240sx for 2gs above market value. so, what is the CURRENT market value for a 95 240sx. what are your opinions. seems kinda weird. anyone else get this kinda stuff?

what the heck? did they say why they wanted to buy it back ? lol

I’d do it. but then again, your car is pretty clean and in good condition. Depends how much they are actually going to give you thouhg.

they said “Waterloo Nissan would like to extend an invitation to trade in your 1995 240sx. Presently, we have motivated buyers for 1995 240sxs and our expanding dealership can offer you $1500- $2000 over normal market value if you trade in your 240sx during this time sensitive program. Please contact me at your earliest convenience to schedule an appointment.”

there you have it ladies and gentlemen.

key word is trade.

you trade your car back, and they make more money off you when you buy a new car from them…

so they are giving you a 2g discount on a car they probably make 10g off

hrmmm, but that would be pretty stupid. for me to “make” 2gs i would have to buy a car?

i think if they bought it from me that would make more sense. not very attractive when i have to buy another car just to get rid of the one i have now.

It’s just a ploy to get you in and buy a new car.

They can bury the difference on a trade and sell you a new car.

By the way, no Nissan dealership makes 10K on a car. Maybe 5K on a top line 350Z.

tell them to F off, 95’s are rare, so why trade it in and have more money to pay, there is nothing better than the s14 anyways chassis wise unless itgs the 350z.

If your car is clean, keep it. They’d probably sell that car to some guy who’ll drive it into a tree.

Keep it. You’ve got the upper hand here. If they really really want it they’ll offer you more. You gotta know how to hard bargain.

I don’t think you have to buy a car from them… you can still trade it in and take the cash as far as I know?

But then problem here is that they’ll give you 2Gs on top of the TRADE IN value, which is always low as fuck. So I’m sure if you were to do a private sale you can get more than trade in value + 2Gs…

No man… they don’t do that. If they buy used cars without a trade, they buy them from auction or wholesalers, never the public. They wan’t him to trade it in and buy a new car.

this happens to me just about every time I’m in the parts department…

“Could I interest you in a test drive?” -salesman

“yeah, but unfortunately the only comparable car in here is the 350Z, and well, my shitbox over there would leave it in the dust”

“So your not interested in the sentra spec-v?” - salesman

“FWD, hells no, thanks for the oil filters for the SR, adios”

but they never mention trade in, etc…

no offense… (and im sure you wont take any to it) but I’m sure they’ve seen your chassis which is why they never mentiond a “trade in”

so lets get get the SR into the new chassis and then maybe next time they’ll ask you if you want to “trade it in”

My bad :o

Chances are they have a buyer for a 95+240sx and your car was in the system. They send you a letter to see if it might peek your interest in selling your car and buy a new one that way they sell 2 cars at once.
