So Ali (neutral_ally) and I were sitting around the house yesterday bored as shit. Ali had some silvia front wide fenders so we decided that there’s no reason these could not fit a 240 front end. We went out to my car and the rest is history:
It turns out silvia fenders are about 1.5" longer and (surprise) have different headlights. So, hybrid fenders would be necessary.
I only took one pic of the almost finished product on one side, but they were a huge success and after fibreglassing, will look mint. All panel gaps turned out perfect. I’ll post more pics after finishing them (hopefully) tonight.
And yes, I DO have spacers for badly sunken wheels, and will be picking up coilovers and rear overs in the next few days.
I say its his car if that’s what he wants the rest of you guys can deal. Never seen something like this done man now just need to get some spacers or some deep dish wheels to go with it.
So everyone knows, this idea started out as a joke, and kinda progressed to a why the fuck not? But it turned out looking fine, and will look so much better after finishing with fibreglass. Also, both my stock fenders as well as the silvia’s were pretty much demolished before we even started this. We pretty much just wanted to see if it would work, and it did. Mutual boredom and curiosity I guess. But thanks everyone, it’s because of you guys that I keep doing exactly what I’m doing.
Remember, anyone can easily go out and buy a set of fenders; it takes a truly persistent and open-minded idiot to take something you already have and make it work.
Keep it up guys!
Bill

Sorry man… can’t back this at all. That looks terrible.
Good work ethic, props for trying something “new”… just stupid idea and bad execution. Maybe the finished picture isn’t a good one… but that looks brutal.
P.s. I used to own those fibreglass fenders… they were terrible. At least you didn’t cut up anything good.
I wish I had spare time and boredem to fuck around. Definitely jealous of that.
made some widebody fenders for almost free cant go wrong, how ever the expensive part is filling up the gaps to make the widening work.
Grind the metal portions of your fender to a rough bare metal. If the fiberglass goes over the paint there’s a good chance the bodywork/paint over top will crack.
LOL. yes it was just to see if we could make it work but then it turned out to be good in the end. 2 dimoleshed sets of fenders equals 1 ok one so its a win in my book. Thank you for all the great job and good try comments. We did what we could.
PS. It does not matter who owned the fenders before and how terrible they were. Me and Arham used to own that 4 door skyline and we had a couple of problems with it but now it all repaired.
