Yeah no joke, that is ridiculous. I have a friend who’s 7’1" and close to 550lbs. Guess what? He doesn’t fly.
Safety + others comfort + flight attendants ability to move down the aisles freely = make them buy two tickets or make them stay home. Say the plane is filled entirely with fat people who need two seats. That means the company would get HALF the price they’d normally get to fly the usual route. 50% the normal profits for a business that’s already facing hard time sand making huge cuts is awful to think about.
I tried to buy an extra ticket when We went to vegas a few yrs back and they wouldn’t even let me. I figured wifey and I would have the whole row for $150 or so. No extra weight, food, waste, etc and they said no. That made no sense to me at all.
How do they allow live animals on flights? I am extremely alergic to cats and if I paid $400 to fly somehwere and some bitch next to me has her cat out, I would go into the bathroom and drown the fucking thing.
See this is horseshit. So the normal weight guy gets a freebie at the companies expense. The company and it’s shareholders are punished because the fat guy took more than his fair share of fuel and space for the price he paid. All because the airlines are afraid of lawsuits, which our retarded legal system would allow. SIGH…no consequence in this country I tell ya. That’s why many Americans are gluts and crooksters.
That is totally insane. They get the money, use less fuel, provide 1 less beverage service and they said no. WOW…silly.
They do allow pets…anything for $. Maybe they do this to offset the loss on fattie fares? LOL. I had to transport 2 kittens and it was something like $75 per even though they were in the same carrier. My girl is a flight attendant and there was this 1 flight recently where the lady had a little pussy type dog. ALL animals are only allowed in carriers and yet she insisted on holding the dog. In the debate the dog got loose and ran around the cabin, eventually pissing on a business mans pants and shoes. He was irate to say the least. Allergies is another great point, the cabin is stagnant air and allergens are gonna be there the entire flight.
Here’s the thing, customers across the board are soft. If “we the people” stood up and demanded better treatment and fought unified for what we believed in, we could mold things the way the masses desire. Instead we currently stand divided worrying if our TV is bigger than the neighbors and just take what we are told is acceptable. We let the companies and government decide everything for us…it’s sad.
I work with a big guy, guess what? We buy him two seats.
One time I was on a flight and a huge woman was across the aisle from me. The FA came down and said “ma’am, you’re going to need to put the armrest down, you have to fit in one seat” to which she replied that she purchased both. Felt bad, she knew and did the right thing but the FA still made it public, opps.
Anyway, you have to pay for heavy bags, you should have to pay for a heavy seat. If you can’t fit in the standard seatbelt - you pay more.
Flying isn’t a right, our society is disgusting that people think it is.
Only in America do we tolerate this kind of obesity. And it’s so sad that everyone here is such a touchy cunt when it comes to making this an actual issue, bec. it really is one. I’ve sat next to severely obese people on planes, a few times, and each time, it was an absolutely horrific experience.
It’s unsafe, inconvenient, and when I’m paying $$$ to fly, I’d prefer a little peace of mind, rather than none at all.
I have nothing against people carrying a few extra pounds, but jesus fucking christ…that shit in that photo is not acceptable. Where’s their sense of pride? Or at least decency for those around you…
