If you are looking for Hemi/flashy,then yeah go with the 300 C.If not then the Charger it is.
For example:If i were looking to buy a nice LT1 B-body with no to less “flash” then i’d get a Caprice or Impala SS.If i wanted flash with softer suspention, less gearing, ect…i’d go with a Buick Roadmaster.

I haven’t heard anything about tranny issues with the 300C. That would be my only worry buying a Mopar.

you have to be diligent on changing the trans fluid or mopar trannies dont last. i do mine once a year. everyone i know that does that gets ~200k out of them. people are lazy is the real issue.

where can you get a rental with a hemi? They are big, lumbering cars. I’d rather have the legacy

All the rentals I’ve seen had the 3.5L v6.

you have to know where to go and who to ask. this car was rented near the pittsburgh airport this summer.
funny thing was all the chrysler engineers that were hanging around were like “dont do it dude, they are only engineered for 40hp above stock” though countless folks are putting 100 wet shots on them. its too easy too. T into the line that goes over the valve cover for the fuel, full throttle switch under the gas pedal (drive by wire) and put the fogger in the intake and some wiring and in 45 min, light the tires lol.
one of my buddies GF took the vid lol. i was in the passenger seat.
you dont realize how hard it is to get that car out of the hole on the stock crap tires or how hot it was that day or how many people we had in the car. if we could have given it anywhere near full throttle in 1st it would have easily been in the 12’s. it ran low 13’s all day long with 4 to 5 guys in the car trying to get out of the heat. it only got a little quicker for the last few pulls cause the bottle was really low when most of the people were out of the car. it ran a 13.2 then and then the bottle ran out.
the car pulled like a train… a very comfortable train…
the charger r/t daytona package to compare, runs low 14’s stock and high 13’s with a k/n drop in and a lower t-stat with a newbie driver. it has a different engine controller for a few more HP. must be a bit lighter too. that car with a shot would be pretty good. ill have to look on some other boards to see how they are doing.
yeah they are pretty bad. quite a few of us were driving the car too. i got the best 60ft out of it and it was only a 2.09 or something like that and i still couldnt get on it.
that video i posted… that was at like 2am or something like that. by 5am the tires were corded. he bought new ones that next morning and they were still crappy tires. the rental company didnt say anything even though the front and rear tire brands were different.
now i will admit that the legacy gt is a nice car but id be tempted to take it over the C for mileage reasons but i love the way the C looks. what trans does the LGT get? i thought only the spec b or b spec got the STi box and can we even get that over here?
I am going to drive both. I would think that with the DoD the hemi would get about the same? i think i would like the room on the C and the “sport” feel of the gt
Yeah, Spec B gets the 6 speed. But the 5 speed isn’t all that bad.

is it the same easy to break box that the impreza gets? i heard that subaru was doing some upgrades on the 5-speed box for the later wrx’s but does the lgt get these stronger parts.
if I were to get either car it wouldnt stay stock and i know the auto in the 300 can take some abuse. im not so sure about the LGT 5-speed given the problems subie has had in the past with them combined with more power/aggressive driving.
people have had problems with the 5 slapper in the lgt. and the 6 slapper in not the same has the sti, it has no front lsd. the Lgt is really only good for ~400 hp… from what i can tell on the boards.
A guy here at work has the same car. It sits too high for my taste, really ruins it. Also the Neon was faster, Jeller and I “borrowed” his car when he first got it and did a few highway pulls.
