The 02 and 03 engine failures are extremely rare and didnt really have anything to do with the rash of failures in 01 (rod bolts combined with improper tolerances on an oiling system part). I can understand the want for SMG though, but also think about a software upgrade, the shifts can aparently be made much crisper with the factory CSL software (good luck).
