IS this game worth buying? Initial thoughts?
If you have anything planned to do in the next month, then no.
If your schedule is clean as a whistle, by all means :lol
If you’re into open world, do as you please type games where you use swords, battle axes, and war hammers to bash you enemies(or friends) then yes this game is total worth buying. Not that it should need much explination, but it’s middle ages/ dragons type of stuff.
Did you ever play and enjoy Fallout3 or Morrowind/Oblivion?
It’s like those but better.
Fallout is a great series. I thought this was an MMO.

what is there for ranged weapons? crossbow? regular longbow?
i played Assassin’s Creed II, Brotherhood, and Revelations (actually finished that yesterday), and i liked the short distance sword fighting in those, but i couldnt do without the distance attacks.

A bunch of long bows and Magic spells of sorts.
Magic alone is sufficient but the real feel of the game is through blocking with shield and power attacks with swords and battle axes.
Weapons are plenty.
Legendary Daedric bow
+30 magica damage enchantment
Ebony arrows
Sneak @ 100 with zoom perk
= Boom, Headshot…midevil style.
I really do think they should have crossbow.
Add the Krosis dragon priest mask to that and you can be doing like 1000 damage
^Yup, you can one shot dragons right out of the sky. Fun watching them just plummet to the ground and burn up.
Agreed, reloading times of one in battle would make is useless though for anything other than one shot.
