Uhhgggg… that one sucked. The paintball part especially.
I liked the part about the Raptor. Paintball part was gay. I like how they didn’t just fall in love with the Benz just because it’s a benz and most people on here would say you have to hump it
Raptor was cool, but note they didn’t say 1 bad thing about it… and there were lots of Ford commercials.
they said plenty bad about the interior, and the way it floats and rolls on the road.
plus, you don’t know what ads are going to show during a show until after you shoot. unless ford bought ads for the whole season ahead of time. but really, there are a lot of ford ads all the time. They also have a ton of top gear Mercedes ads but they had no problem bashing that.
I just watched the 2nd episode over the weekend. I’m still very “meh” on this show. Downloaded 3 and 4 but haven’t bothered watching them yet.
Did enjoy the evo on a ski slope bit.
last night’s was ok the first two segments. the paintball thing sucked so hard. I actuaaly enjoyed hearing kid rock talk about what he enjoys about cars
I won’t add or subtract points for the celebrity interview because the majority of the UK ones I just end up fast forwarding to the lap. I really don’t care about what hollywood types have to say about pretty much anything.
I knew Top Gear USA wasn’t going to be great but I didn’t expect it to suck this hard.
Yeah, but they didn’t really have anything to say negative about it other than Adam don’t like the rear styling (which is entirely subjective), and the gull wing doors get old real quick.
I happen to love the look of the SLS completely. I know when I first saw it, I wasn’t really impressed with the roofline, but it has grown on me. Actually I love the back end of the car. I would take the SLS over pretty much any Ferarri/Lambo anyday. Certain Porsches it would be a tossup.
I love it when the audience doesnt laugh at any of there stupid jokes.
i havent watched a single episode. fuck it.
Anyone see the Alaska episode? First one that I genuinely enjoyed.
I haven’t seen it. They working out the kinks Jay?
They finally seemed to get some chemistry. The dialog didn’t seem so forced and they were legitimately funny. It was like they suddenly realized what makes the original Top Gear great was that the hosts have fun doing it.
It was definitely their best episode.
Good to hear.
That was one of the few I watched but it was pretty decent. It kinda bugged me that they just gave up on the one truck after a broken driveshaft. The dodge sounded terminal though.
i think the hosts are fine. it’s the production of the show that I’m worried about
all or the stunts/challenges are VERY setup. The one where the raced to key west in boat/car/plane. I mean, come on…The plane flies over the boat? the guy in the car sees the boat pass him. Then, miraculously, the car wins by a few strides? Super lame. And what about the countless times where they’re doing a challenge, and you can see burnout marks/trails where they obviously shot a scene 10 times to get it right?
Also, it’s obvious that insurance/manufacturers don’t trust them driving their cars. The Aston Martins were only driven on salt flats. Many of the others were only allowed out on an airstrip. On top gear, most of the time they are lapping their test track while discussing the car.
it all comes down to money… insurance, risk, production all require cash that is simply not available to make it like the UK version.
if they can get the viewers the money will come. Top Gear UK costs about 2 million pounds per episode if I remember correctly.
yeah, I’m sure that is the case…Which is why I am continuing to watch.
